My sisters bf broke up with her right before homecoming. First love and all. And the jerk did it after she ordered her homecoming dress! Like dang at least say it before she spends the $! That'll be a depressing package to receive. But they're teens so who knows they may be back together in like 5 minutes

My girlfriend of two years decided to tell me she thinks we should take a break yesterday. Today's my birthday and I am just an absolute wreck right now.

 

I helped organize a match that consisted of a thousand people for immigrants rights years ago. It was big for the city in which I lived at the time.

 

I met a very wonderful person tonight and did not have the courage to ask her out until it was too late and I'm beating myself up for it

 

You don't have a way to contact her or meet her again?

 

I met her at her work which is part of the reason I didn't ask her out, didn't wanna bother her at work. I could always go by again and just hope she's there

Was I a fool to fall in love with an 18 year old?

I'm 24. I'm a pretty private dude, not a lot of people I meet that I want to bring into my life. I met this girl at work and I didn't even know I wanted her romantically at first, I just knew I wanted her in my life. I thought she was like 22 based on her looks and personality, turns out she was newly 18. In December she told me she liked me and from there we started dating and a few months later and we were exclusive. I fucking fell hard. I've been in a few long term relationships with some toxic people and this was the first relationship where I've ever felt truly loved and cared for. She was so sweet and caring and everything was so fucking easy. I remember back in late July/early August we were laying in bed and she was going down the list of all the things she loves about me and told me I was perfect. Then she made future plans for us to visit Holland and possibly move there, as that's where she grew up. Cut to mid August....she breaks up with me because she says she doesn't want to be in a relationship anymore and that she's not ready to be in a committed relationship like I am. Now, a month later, I found out she's decided to move back to Holland. I feel fucking crushed, and I feel like an idiot. Ugh. Just having someone tell you how perfect you are and then break up with you a week later....oof

Sorry to hear that man. i had a few relationships with some girls whom were 19 when I was 23/ 24 and they didn't work out. Pretty sure the age gap had something to do with it.

 

I've been the girl on the end of that age difference and pretty much every woman I know has been at one point, and the power dynamics are almost always off. Even putting that aside, def two completely different life stages.

 

Over the weekend I learned that my 18 year old cousin who never had a boyfriend before is dating someone my age and it kinda freaked me out.

 

Went and browsed/ tried on engagement rings today with my bf. Super exciting!

 

May have made an ass of myself of the woman I'm interested in...

but shit, I needed to say something, these feelings have been cropping back up the past few weeks.
