In terms of major big budget series based on books Hulu/FX's Shogun and Apple TV+s Masters Of The Air will both be big deals.

Yeah James Clavell. British white guy that became obsessed with Asian history after he was held in a Japanese prison camp in Singapore during WW2. His entire Asian Saga kind of has the overarching theme of the clashing of Western and Asian cultures in the modern colonial and postcolonial periods.

 

I’m only halfway through but I definitely agree that the mix of “celebs” vs normies is weird. I feel like it would work really well as either all celebs or all normals. Maybe it’s just my bias because I knew all of the reality stars before but I feel like none of the newbies are getting a chance to shine other than like Christian and Michael.

That being said watching Kate Chastain and Rachel Reilly fight is like a weird reality tv fever dream and it’s all I’ve ever wanted in the world and I’m having a great time.

 

Yeah I'd def want to see a all normies show and all celebs. Celebs are used to this stuff so they know how to provide quality entertainment. Let the normies have their own show so they can work out the awkwardness of being brand new to a reality show. Lemme know what you think of everything when it all ends! The BBC bought the rights to show the US version over there so I wonder if peacock would ever be interested in bringing over the UK version.

Watching the traitors (on ep 4) without really knowing who any of the “celebs” are definitely feel like I’m missing a bit of the experience. I also feel it would probably be more interesting not knowing who the traitors are so you can play a long

i like the vote out mechanic more than the weird stuff the mole did (not to mention how like, it wasn’t even clear what the mole was playing for and how it actually benefited them to deny the group the money). But it’s kinda aggravating just how bad at the game a lot of the players are. Also definitely feels like producers are probably pulling some strings to get an “interesting” game — for the sake of good TV you don’t want the werewolves getting all caught early and you only get five episodes but you also don’t want them steamrolling and feels like the only way that can actually be sure to happen is with the producers nudging stuff in the right way.

I wish Disaster Weeding wasn't actually a typo and it was a horror movie about a family's terrifying disaster while doing yardwork. And the poster would be a silhouette of a plant-like monster with the tagline "Honey, that wasn't a weed..."

 

Watched that season premiere of Servant last night and holy shit. This last season is gonna be a doozy

Yeah like I've said elsewhere, the mix of celebs and normal people is...... definitely questionable IMO. The UK version was all normal people and that's one reason I preferred that version. Normal people will never mentally be on the same level as celebs, especially celebs with past experience in these kinda elimination shows.

 

Starring Glenn Powell but it's been in development for a while

 

I watched it all in 2 days, but it was pretty bad tbh. Felt like they didn't really flesh out the mechanisms of the game and like you said, some of the people were SO bad at the game itself.

 

Not knowing anything about this show this all sounds so ridiculous I don’t understand who pays to make this stuff

Man Peacock is utter TRASH on the PS5. It seems to just default to 480p regardless of internet speeds

No idea how to confirm it, but my android TV's look a million times better

 

Every episode is like that haha, I absolutely love how bonkers that show is. Haven’t started the new season yet but I think I’ll wait til more episodes are out.
