Not sure why this isn't a thing anymore. This is cool.

 

Most annoying flip for me is the Dear and the Headlights 6LP release of "Small Steps" and "Bible Times." The tracks on the 4LP Small Steps discs aren't in the same sequence as the original release.

edit: I meant 3LP and 2LP lol

 

I used to be really bugged when records that were originally pressed as a single LP got expanded to 2xLP, but since I started working more in my office, my record player is just a foot away from me so...hard for me to complain about a quick swap now lol.

There definitely are some quality pressings on single LP that it doesn't make a huge difference on 2xLP, but pretty much up to the quality control process there.

 

Slept on the exclusive set thinking it wouldn't sell out. I forgot how there's such a demand for their albums. The packaging looks lovely. I may bite the bullet on the swirl box set. But a part of.me is hoping there's some cancellations on the exclusive. Spartan Records always has such nice looking variants.

 

I'll admit I also get a little tired of the changing LPs, and that's part of why I added a CD player to my setup. I still prefer the vinyl sound, but sometimes it's nice to have the option. Last weekend I went through the whole Bad Seeds B-side collection while building Lego, and it was nice only needing to switch discs five times instead of putting on (and flipping) 14 LPs. Yes, I realize how silly it is complaining about the inconvenience of vinyl in this thread.

 

Got a new Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO today. Got it all set up, and then realized that the anti-skate weight simply doesn't stay on. I get that it's not a high end turntable but, man, for $600, that fishing wire weight feels a bit silly. Likely going to return it and get the Fluance RT85.

 

I just bought the deluxe version of Save Rock & Roll because it’s on two 12’s instead of the standard on two 10’s.

So this is a first. Somehow the center label got torn during production and the piece that broke off got pressed into the actual record. HOW?

It's literally inside the record. Doesn't affect play at all. I thought about trying to get a replacement, but I guess it doesn't matter.

 

Went to my local newbury as I’m wont to do and walked out with nothing. I just can’t justify $30 records anymore. I’ll stick to waiting for their vinyl sale weekends
