Somehow, Steph stepping down does not get talked about enough.

Question for native speakers: i initially used "resigning" instead of stepping down. But then i read it as re-signing. But resigning would have been correct too, right?

 

resigning is correct. re-signing would mean she signed a new contract with wwe. resigning is stepping down

 

The human element here is truly fascinating. It's real life Succession in the purest sense. I feel for Steph, in so much as one can feel for an uber-rich former CEO of a billion dollar company. I do think she and Triple H were loving what they were doing, were genuinely better at it than her father, and were going to do great things for the company long term.

 

If the nightmare comes true, we'll look at July 2022-January 2023 as what could have been before we sank into the abyss.

 

Vince is definitely getting read to sell the company to someone just based on the recent moves he's made with the board and Steph resigning...just a matter of who to. I thought Comcast would've been the obvious choice, but this Saudi story being leaked to the dirtsheets leads me to believe that they're just testing the waters with a "leak" to see how the public would react.

Or I'm just wearing a tinfoil hat and giving in to the bait. Either way, it's definitely a day for wrestling between that and Hangman/Mox tonight.
