My fiancee and I have done this the past 5 years or so. In the interest of saving money/being cheap, all are either available on streaming services or we own them on DVD. As the key states, we're alternating between ones we've seen and ones we, as a couple, have not...or we have seen them but we were too banged up to remember them, lol. As you can tell, we like a lot of "good-bad" horror movies, haha:

You have a lot of fun movies lined up that you haven't seen yet.

Having a Hocus Pocus party tonight with some friends. I'm not the biggest fan of the movie, didn't like it all that much as a kid. But it's a fun excuse to get people together and have some beers. Plus I'm not technically starting my horror movie month with it haha

It's not bad. Corny kids Halloween movie. I have a friend who hasn't seen it either, so I'm curious what someone who isn't tainted with nostalgia thinks of it.

Without sounding too, "WHOA ARE YOU SERIOUS!?," you need to get the eff on that. Now.

my list so far of what i want to watch in october: october 2016

haven't seen any of these before, about half are films i've wanted to see for a while and just haven't gotten around to, the other half by directors i've been watching a lot of lately. i'd love some recommendations, i've mostly been interested in european horror from the 60's/70's/80's recently, but up for anything

This is going to be the first year in a long time where I'm really going to try and get in the Halloween spirit, and with that comes watching movies. I'm living with roommates this year so come October we're going to hit up Bulk Barn for some ghoooulish treats and try to tackle as many movies as we can given our differing schedules. I think the only way we're going to be able to do it is watching three or four movies each night, a few times a week. Really looking forward to it. Here's what I have listed. Still have to organize them as to what will go good together on the same night:

Monster House, It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, The Crow, Trick r Treat, Scary Godmother Halloween Spooktacular, Paranorman, Nightmare Before Christmas, Goosebumps, Clue, Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland, Pet Sematary, Scooby Doo on Zombie Island, Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost, Tucker and Dale VS Evil, the Halloween episode of Recess, an episode or two of Tales from the Crypt, a Treehouse of Horror or two, Drag Me to Hell, Yoga Hosers, Mickey Mouse's House of Villains, Addams Family Values, Scared Shrekless, Toy Story of Terror, Halloween, an episode of Freaky Stories, and Little Monsters.

    Aim high boys.

Really liked Conjuring 2. A little long but they managed to keep the tension pretty strong, especially within the first hour (minus the opening, which was kind of meh). The scene when they made her drink the water was the best.

I watched Drag Me to Hell last night, thought it was pretty good. I thought the ending was going to be different though. I figured she would get mixed up and leave the envelope in the car, but I thought that would mean that technically she had given it to her boyfriend, meaning he would be the one to go to hell. He even opened it and everything at the end so I thought it would "belong" to him now. I obviously didn't understand the rules of the film properly haha but I very much enjoyed it

My roommates and I kicked off the month with a homemade pancake breakfast (they were filled with Reese's Pieces to be festive) and then we watched Treehouse of Horror V and Shaun of the Dead. This October is going to be great

I watched a low-budget Australian movie called Lake Mungo last night. I felt like it had a ton of potential but the ending was pretty disjointed - it's like this movie didn't know if it wanted to be a ghost story, murder mystery or what.

Kicked off my October with "It" this morning. I'm not sure why people are so outraged about the upcoming adaptation. Sure, Curry's performance was legendary, but the mini-series wasn't a masterpiece by any means. It's still a fun watch though.

I think someone mentioned it before but it's been sitting in my Netflix queue. Not worth it?

I still love it but considering how long the book is, I'd much rather see an updated version spread across 8-12 episodes since networks like HBO, FX and Netflix have been doing limited series like that

No, I think it's worth it. I enjoyed the format and most of the plot, just felt like it missed the mark a little.

I know this is awful, but I've actually never read the book. I need to get on that.

People are bent out of shape about a new It adaptation? Sucks that Fukunaga isn't attached anymore but I'm all about it. I'd kinda like another redo of The Stand, too.

Yea...unless we don't consider people on social media, "people." >-p

Folks seem to be up in arms over It's new look and the casting choices. Fukunaga would've been great at the helm, but I still have high hopes. I've also seen a lot of complaints about the time being set in the 80's. I dunno, I think it makes the story more relevant and relatable.

I make it a point never to see the person behind the keyboard. ;-)

Honestly updating to the 80s-10s makes sense to me. Whatever, can't please everyone.

I almost deleted facebook after reading a comment on one of the early pre-production photos. It was a group photo of the kids who're playing the loser's club....the comment read, "WTF. Kid's didn't have cellphones and backwards hats in the original!"......
