Jk. I just skimmed through their top songs on Apple Music and they sound like they’d crush at the Hollywood Bowl.

I actually like The 1975 a lot, but I don't think they're anywhere as big/important as the internet makes them out to be.

    His music is aggressively “fine”

I’ve grown to really like Harry Styles. I’ve only really liked about half of the past couple records, but don’t dislike anything and the half I do like I find wonderful. I feel that he as a figure is bigger than his music.

I’m easy to impress with that style of pop rock I guess

I have pretty eclectic tastes, and I'm easy to please when it comes to certain things - like I enjoy listening to the country band Midland, for instance - so I suppose I can see appreciating them and liking them even though they are very much not for me. It's the constantly elevating them to one of my best bands going and constantly elevating whatever they happen to put out to "best of" status that I really don't see and actually actively disagree with.

Take the posts immediately preceding this: I would say say Harry Styles is much more talented than The 1975 and every one of his albums is better than anything they have done, and I'm not even that big of a Harry Styles fan. I enjoy his albums and his songs whenever I hear them, but they don't have any sort of hold or staying power for me.

I think Harry's first album is pretty dull, but the second and third are pretty great. Seeing him live really changed my mind on him, he's an absolute rock star, his live show has a better live band than many actual bands these days, extremely impressive show.

“You Know You’re Right” is a top-tier Nirvana song and deserves more love.

I feel like, removing some valid criticisms about how Matty can be annoying, the 1975 are incredibly accessible. Don’t seem like a very tough nut to crack, imo. They make great pop rock music

Totally agree. But also, when we were kids, it was SO SILLY to hear a song faster or slower. I think these kids are just learning about it like we did, but we didn't have social media and charts and tiktok to propogate it, it was more just like "lol they sound like chipmunks"

I still don’t understand how this happened, Busted was such a non-factor in the US

But yes Year 300 (the Busted version) is an all-time great pop punk song, I don’t care what anyone says lol

That show about them going to the US? That was kinda funny because it all failed so spectacularly and they made fun about it

Where I live, Busted had to call themselves “Bust” because some random wedding band owned the name Busted locally
