I've only been able to listen once so far but it's...different for them. Anxious to give it some more time.

    Hey, remember Absolutepunk?

I thought so too upon first listen, but on subsequent plays, there's really a lot of classic Fireworks DNA to this album. Songs like "Goodnight Tomb" and "Funeral Plant" sound like Gospel-era Fireworks to me, but tracks like "I Want to Start a Religion with You" give me real strong vibes of Brand New's growth from Your Favorite Weapon to Deja Entendu. Everything still feels like Fireworks to me, especially after having seen them with TWY a few months ago.

I'm one of the crazy people who is already out there calling this an AOTY contender on January 3rd, but man, this album is good.

Maybe it's just me, but I do get some very subtle vibes of Hostage Calm when listening to some songs.

It’s absolutely brilliant and such a beautiful body of work. Very happy for them and that this is out in the world.

Absolutely stunning record. Took a few days to fully appreciate it, but holy shit this is good. “Megachurch”, “Blood in the Milk”, and “I Wanna Start a Religion With You” are some of the best songs they’ve ever written.

Also “Jerking Off the Sky” is something I never thought we’d get from this band, but this change of sound feels so natural for them.

I absolutely adore elements of this, but I can't help thinking the vocalist is a little flat at times... Is it just me?

I've never really checked out Fireworks before, but this is some strong stuff considering they've been away for so long.

Let's get these people moving faster!

Definitely weirder and darker than I would have predicted, especially had I not read some of these comments first - but I'm absolutely enjoying it. The evolution of their style vaguely reminds me of when Boston Manor released Welcome to the Neighbourhood.
