Hardcore is back af

 

Hardcore might be back, but some of the people into it are still sketchy weirdos based on the hour I spent on the new DAZE discord server before I launched myself back off into the ether.

 

Good on you for being in a hardcore Discord server. Reddit is weird AF and all they do it talk about Turnstile and Cold as Life nonstop. That's about as far as I go.

I knew it was bad when I got in a fight with the admin the first week in.

 

I will only talk about turnstile and drain

Sometimes r/hardcore can be fun or have some cool threads where I can find out about new bands but 90% of the time it’s people arguing about Turnstile or Knocked Loose or LMAO WHAT BAND IS THIS?! posts.

r/hardcore is alright, but the moderation is all over the place like a lot of the niche subreddits...which is one thing I will give r/metal. Say what you will about their rules, but they run a tight ship.

 

Bingo. I reported a comment and the mod called me a clown and told me to suck it up. Yeah r/hardcore is lame AF.

 

Carlos from No Echo even makes fun of it.

I love messing with r/hardcore. I posted an album and said AOTY, with the caption IYKYK. People were pissed and calling me a gatekeeper, which is very ironic for the sub.

 

yep. kinda dicks, sometimes questionably exclusionary based on arbitrary characteristics, and no tolerance for shenanigans...which that last bit is an attitude I appreciate a bit more than ever as a parent of a toddler.

 

I try to stay off Reddit bc of the discourse there, and I don't even know where to begin with Discord.
So between friends and this thread, this is how I've gotten new things to listen to in this specific genre. And I'm pretty okay with that...but that might also be because I'm one of the few females in my friend group who seeks this stuff out.

 

There is no fun to be had in Shane's household.
