I think their options were continue or forfeit iirc

 

Peter Schmeichel said they were given the options of play immediately, play the next day, or forfeit. UEFA deny that they threatened Denmark with a forfeit, but they did say that the need to ensure 48 hours' rest between matches (which I think is a PFA thing) limited their options.

There was definitely a whole thing about UEFA trying to hide behind "the players wanted to play" when that wasn't *necessarily* the case, or at least the full story.

Sol is definitely hugely under appreciated and not viewed as highly as a player as he should be, but he does seem like a massive knobhead.
