i feel like this graphic is kind of silly because it doesn’t account for anything other than simply free agency. i cannot vouch for every team on this list, but the Mariners have had some internal extensions, Rodriguez and Castillo, albeit signed in-season, both contracts begin next season and are worth a LOT of money each. they also made trades to bring in salary with Hernandez and Wong. sometimes the graphic doesn’t tell the full story, and in their case that is very true.
