Seeing this on Sunday!

Question about the 3D glasses for IMAX, it’s been ages since I’ve seen a movie in 3D (probably the last Avatar tbh) and back then I didn’t wear glasses, just contacts. Are the 3D glasses big enough to fit over glasses? I have contacts but they’re an older prescription and they don’t feel right in my eyes so I’d rather not put them in

 

the imax 3d glasses are bigger than normal they should fit

 

I wore mine over my glasses, although it wasn't IMAX, so I dunno if that makes a difference.

 

Yeah I wore my RealD glasses over my normal glasses both times, no issues. Not sure how IMAX differs.

Idk if my local IMAX set up is bad or if the difference between IMAX 3D & Dolby 3D is just that stark, but this looked sooooo much better in Dolby

The high frame rate was actually noticeable this time around

Just got out of a 3D showing, and while I'm not sure I would want to see this movie again it was fun and weird and bold in ways that I'm glad I supported. I really enjoyed how it felt like James Cameron had a true blank check, from restaging Titanic for 20 minutes to giving his cartoon cat people transcendent drug experiences to murdering hundreds of humans.

 

also if you're looking for a meme, the way a Marine says "HE'S FERAL" when they first capture Spider is it.

 

Realized True Lies was the only blind spot for me in Cameron's filmography so I'm fixing that tonight. The aspect ratio on Peacock is fucked for me

 

not to rain on your parade, but that's gotta be the only cameron film i've seen that i pretty much hate

Isn't that the pattern that Avatar 1 followed?? I don't remember it having the most insanely big opening but it just had incredible legs and gained momentum at the box office as it went along.

Yes. People were trying to bury it after a "weak" opening weekend but then it just kept going.

 

To reiterate I didn't equate my initial question about the social media presence with the quality of the movie if people feel like not harping on that anymore cool
