I really hope Dragon Lee does well there, but with WWE’s history of how they’ve handled Hispanic wrestlers, I’m wary.

 

Can’t believe they made Wardlow a total geek lol.


I mean, to be fair the Goldberg push always falls off a cliff.

 

Wardlow is someone wrestling geeks would piss on from a great height if he was in WWE.

I’m sure I’ve said this before, apologies if I’m repeating myself haha

 

Most guys who get Goldberg booking can’t (or don’t) do Swantons so idk I like Wardlow

 

MJF got him over, he’s not much without MJF, just another beefy dude who likes butt metal

 

the wardlow stuff is weird considering he killed mjf and somehow mjf came out of the feud in a better spot than wardlow in a story that was designed to strap the rocket to wardlow

i think he's better than what most give him credit for. dude can put on a really great match, but he's been in bizarro land since the mjf feud. he's mostly faced low level guys since winning the tnt title, formed a team with samoa joe, and then eventually lost the title to him. in what should've been wardlow killing people until he had a major challenger, he was having somewhat competitive matches with brian cage and matt taven. it was a transition title run that realistically should've had someone like a jericho eventually challenging him

 

Hobbs should have won that triple threat match

 

basically the TLDR version of Tony Khan had no idea how to book Wardlow lol

 

wardlow should've been set up to eventually take the aew title from MJF but instead he's getting a haircut on the last show of the year

 

Wardlow would stand out more if there weren’t better big guys who were better on the mic and in the ring like Hobbs, Lee, Etc. He’s just not that impressive when you have talent that does what he does, but does it better.

 

Putting Wardlow and Joe together was always going to be the death of him because Joe is the better talker and fans are going to get behind him in that feud. They were ready to accept Wardlow months ago but he still can’t cut a promo and their solution was putting him in three different feuds with Mark Sterling. You get bored of seeing talents stuck in neutral even if they’re a monster like Wardlow. Getting him off TV for a couple months & reintroducing him later is the right call.

I think Joe might have a similar problem because the TNT Title scene is just names Tony Khan pulls out of a hat.

 

I will say that Joe’s heel turn is lame. I’d love if Darby took the title off him next week in Seattle. Joe doesn’t need the title and Darby is long overdue for a push.

 

I kinda think a run in ROH could be really good for Wardlow. Get him off TV but still visible once the ROH show starts, let him get comfortable on the mic and build him for the ROH title. Hell even let him take the ROH TV title off Joe if you need him to get his win back

 

Kinda a nothingburger. Says they asked to drop the AAA belts, their contracts expire in the Spring, and they have mentioned wanting to rassle "not on national TV"

 

I think there's still more FTR can do but they probably have to turn them heel since most of the hot tag teams now are babyfaces & nobody wants to see Jay Lethal wrestle in this company again. The Acclaimed & Top Flight are still pretty green with wrestling on TV, so FTR would be good feuds for them to get through a couple months of TV. They're kind of stuck fighting The Gunn Club & other teams nobody cares about as babyfaces.

 

Time for varsity blondes to shine :D

 

FTR are more fun as heels

 

I would say that the crowd still being behind them would be a problem but most of the heels who are good at their job get cheered anyway.

 

He has a hard time booking after the chase. He knows how to book the build up but never what to do after. Same goes for WWE with the exception of Roman though

 

Or he’s been booked terribly like every single champion in the company since hangman won the title. I’d rather Ricky starks not win a title in AEW at this rate because that’s where your go for your push to die
