I bet there will be more bands announced, and I just noticed Friday only has 2 names on big font while the other 2 days have 3 names in big font, so probs they will add a final headliner for Friday.

Still wild to me seeing RA as headliber in a festival in Germany

Didn't Fever 333 just lose two of their three members, too?

Yeah Jason is the only member left. Whoever they get to replace Aric better be able to do backflips off the drum kit

Parkway Drive doesnt have a Chicago show on their February tour and they will be back in the US to perform at Blue Ridge in September

Maybe they can play Riot in a similar slot as Ghost Inside?

The blue ridge show is a full pyro set. I don’t think they play riot unless they were a headliner. My guess is they are coming back to the USA for a second time to do the full pyro arena tour finally

    Full pyro = headliner status

I don’t know *that* much about them but Parkway Drive are not headliners IMHO. Maybe stage closers.

I don’t deny that Parkway Drive is big here in the states, but I don’t think they’re Riot headliner status. Them closing out a stage (especially if pyro is involved) seems more realistic

I think if you’re a Riot headliner you have to be a household name or close to it, or have broad appeal that a lot of people would show up to watch your set. I just don’t see Parkway Drive as that.

Like, if I asked my parents who MCR, NIN, Weezer, Blink, Slipknot, No Doubt, etc. are they would know who I am talking about or at least recognize some songs, but if I asked them who Parkway Drive is they would have no idea who I am talking about, and when curating a festival you want the headliners people actually know in some capacity or who have enough hits where you get casual folks to show up.

Parkway is huge overseas. They’ve headlined every major festival over there or just about everyone. Since they haven’t toured the states since since 2018/2019 I’m sure they would draw fairly well if they rebooked the arena tour they had lined up last year that was postponed from 2020. If I recall correctly they where headlining the Thursday night of aftershock last year before they cancelled

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

Parkway doesn't really have a lot of crossover with their punk rock/indie rock/emo/pop punk stuff, I really think they'd do their own tour in the states.

I think the original point I was trying to make got lost in translation.

if they were offered to play the only way they would accept is if they where a headliner on whatever day they played.

but I do agree that they have their own tour lined up for the fall and a rebooking of the arena tour they had booked the last couple of years. they are coming back a second time next year and the February tour isn’t that long.

you don’t come back just to play one show.

I just find it interesting that they are hitting some major cities on their February tour for them to come back for an arena tour 6 months later. They are playing a 1,850 cap venue in LA and there are still tix available, so not sure if playing arenas later in the year would be viable

Probs they will play the festival circuit in Fall like Blude Ridge, Aftershock, Louder Than Life, maybe Furnace, with some shows here and there. Still dont think they will be headliners of Blue Ridge nor DWP festivals, but definetly stage closers to have their pyro.

Just listened to them for the first time. Riot won't want to book them, and they would be better served playing under Disturbed or whoever at a Wimmer fest. Pyro or no pyro.

We have 10+ years of Riot Fest outdoor line-ups. They steer so far clear of this stuff aesthetically that I'm still not sure why it ever even comes up.

The only pyro Riot needs is Porno For Pyros

I spent about five minutes trying to come up with that joke. I think my brain is fried. Holiday break needs to start earlier than 5 o'clock today, dammit!

Have never listened to Parkway Drive, but when we’re talking a pyro show, is it like Rammstein level or some flash bangs at every breakdown?

There’s a hell of a lot more innovative and exciting ways to present your music live other than pyro.

That looks veryyyy similar to the pyro production that Gaga used on her summer tour.

So, for funsies, what are everyone’s predictions on headliners?
