0/2 and moving in the wrong direction

 

Someone on Instagram said “for everyone complaining- this is a nostalgia festival. If you wanted the hottest artists of today and tomorrow, go to lollapalooza”

I thought this was funny because Bamboozle/John D have said countless times that what they’re trying to AVOID is being a nostalgia festival and they want to be a showcase for relevant modern acts.

So even the people defending this fest are kinda admitting that it’s missing the mark it aimed for

 

I can’t imagine that anyone but the hardest John D defenders don’t see that. The direction is all over the map too.

 

My take now is that this fest is for people that never went to warped tour but were casually into the music.

 

Like, I'd still like to go to this because I love cringy trainwrecks but not enough to spend money on airfare, hotel, and a ticket.

 

To think if he committed to nostalgia and ran back an homage to S&S and early bamboozle I would've flew cross country for it.

 

3 new acts announced today. Blackbear and two others I’ve never heard of.

Blackbear is definitely a step up from these last two announcements

 

Blackbear is one of my favorite artist. So very good get

 

I really enjoyed his latest pop punk album. Not mad at that addition

the other two artists are Ellise and Pardyalone.

 

Maybe they did book Brand New and every other band just dropped off.

 

If they booked Brand New at the expense of every other artist that dropped they’d probably make more money w the intensity of their fan base

Blackbear…ok, I never listened before but did MGK just create a whole subgenre of this stuff? Yikes, this is really cringey if you’re not under 17.

This is just laughably bad, especially compared to Adjacent. So his clowning of that festival is even more hilarious.

Like, who is traveling for this festival when most of these acts tour regularly anyways?

 

Also he said that more women would be added to the lineup but where are they??? I know the announcements are not done but still…

I can say that there are now three bands I’d like to see.

Ellise yesterday and Shallow Pools today. I think I know what you mean though.

Lineup is still absolute dog shit. The only act I would see is Scowl and I would just see them on the Show Me the Body tour.

 

I feel very out of touch not knowing any of the bands from the last 2 days

 

Oh I actually didn’t realize those two had women in them. That’s at least something.
