I think this might be an announcement that all Heisei films are coming to Shout Factory for streaming and that John Carpenter is doing a presentation for them.

Based on casting calls the new Japanese Godzilla film will take place “in Post-War Japan between 1945 and 1947”

It’s been revealed that a lot of American actors will be in the new Japanese Godzilla film and that it will have a lot of English in it.

The American military will be fighting Godzilla in Japan due to Japan not having an army between 1945 - 1947. Scenes will take place in the Kanto area of Japan and sets were made to resemble Guam.

Being that Toho filmed this in the spring to allow a lot of post-production, is using western actors, and used some of the Hollywood studio space to film scenes, it seems like Toho is aiming for this to appeal to a global audience instead of just a Japanese audience.
