My Year In Gaming: 2022 Part 1

 

A 10 minute run is hardly scratching the surface of the game

 

The thing about KB though is that as you progress it, it forms a better barrier than Garlic and by the time you evolve it, you got a ring of pure death protecting you.

 

Players Log: Finished out the spell “cookie” challenge by using Wells. It’s a fun little indie I got a ways back.

Now I need to obtain 7 achievements from games that are tagged as Shoot em’ up or Beat em’ up.

 

I'm pretty aware of this. It was, indeed, the point of my post.

 

The COD campaigns are always jingoistic pro-Western propaganda but they’re also fun too

This is pretty cool though and brings back a lot of memories.

Game sounds so good on my pulse headphones. They did a really good job audio design wise with the game.

 

Now this gets me hyped

Player's Log: Another Perspective

Basically a puzzle game positioning itself in the "self-aware" genre, having you swap between versions of yourself to collect keys that open doors to new rooms, all while a narrator "challenges" your perceptions of yourself and what's happening. It kind of sounds like it's trying to be more intelligent than it actually is, but the puzzles were challenging.

I got 4 of 8 achievements by finishing the main game and finding the secrets within. There is another mode called Mystery Mode that has even harder puzzles, where I can get three more achievements, and there's a final achievement for beating the main game in 12 minutes. I'm definitely not doing that last one, and I'm not all that interested in doing the others right now either.

Instead, I'm moving on to another game, Ahnayro: The Dream World. It's made by a company called Alice & Smith, known for making a series of investigation-style games that includes this, Nite Team 4, and The Black Watchmen.

Bonus Player's Log: Vampire Survivors

I played some more. Unlocked some more stuff. Got Level 2 unlocked. Like I said previously, it's a good game to play when I want to listen to music but need to keep my mind occupied. I still like Garlic, even though I do get what people are saying about the King Bible. I also like the weapon that freezes enemies.

What annoys me, and I'm open to people telling me if there's something I should be doing about this, but it feels like between area of attack limitations and cooldown periods, it takes a while for any weapon to feel really useful.

 

Make sure you are using your coins for permanent upgrades that will reduce cooldown times, etc.

 

Yeah, that's pretty standard. Appreciate it though. I guess I didn't know if there were weapons that were more effective right off the bat, but I guess there's not really any secret to the game.

 

Not enough for a log, but on Ahnayro, the game I'm playing: Oh man, I clicked something in the game and it opened a webpage in my browser. I love shit like this.

 

My advice is to go as fast as possible and stick to weapons you like in the first few stages to get them leveled up. It will help you in the long run.

 

Player's Log:

Okay, so that game was over way too quickly, and I think it's because I used a walkthrough. Technically you're supposed to use the clues they give you and look shit up in the real world on Google or etc. to uncover the answers, but I had the answers, so I ripped through it.

Also annoyingly, the game doesn't really give you any indication that you've finished it other than having found all the achievements. Kind of weird and lame.

Anyway, now I'm gonna play this game:

 

I'm not sure if I'm parsing this correctly. Weapons don't stay leveled up, right?

Like, I go into Stage 1, I fight until I'm dead, and next time I go in, I level everything all over again. And right now I only have two stages, and it seems like I have to get to Level 40 in Stage 2 to unlock the third stage.

So I'm not sure I'm following, especially when you say to go "as fast as possible". There's no goal right? You just kill stuff. So where am I going "as fast as possible"?

Sorry, I'm really trying to understand but it doesn't match up with what I've seen so far. Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

the character that starts with the holy water and increased amount of area damage is so OP
