I agree, DC even said it too that the commentators are not there to judge, just interpret what they’re seeing, and that the only scoring that didn’t make any sense to him on the cards was Ankalaev getting a round 3. All three judges gave Jan round 1, and no one thinks Ankalaev won 2 or 3, so if anything Jan should have the title.

It seems to me that when people are most upset with decision victories is when they think a grappler centric fighter should’ve won based on control time. It doesn’t seem like the judges favor that over strikes and damage done anymore If they’re not advancing position.

 

Glover/Hill makes the 283 card a lot more exciting. The card was lacking a good co main and that fight should be a ton of fun.

That’s a way more winnable fight for Leon with an equally big name. Much better matchup for him in my opinion.

Sounds to me like Leon would prefer to fight in March, if possible, but they are waiting to see when Usman will be available. If Usman is going to be out way longer than that and Leon doesn't want to wait it out, they are looking at other options in order to have him fight in March (i.e. the potential fight with Masvidal).

Wonderboy also said he's been approached by the UFC to rematch Masvidal himself so clearly nothing is set at this moment. Everyone jumping to the conclusion that Leon vs. Jorge is the plan right now, but I don't think that's what he meant.

For sure. He got dominated three times in a row so a title shot is pretty ridiculous. I also wonder how big of a draw he/this fight even is, at this point.

Also don’t really like them building this fight off of that backstage brawl. Jorge just got charged for assaulting Colby… don’t reward him for that same thing.
