Tim touring with Dunes but not Thursday is sort of a head scratcher.

    Things have changed.

Especially when he played with Dunes at Riot Fest and not with Thursday at their aftershow. Maybe he just is done with Thursday completely at this point?

This Thursday/Cursive tour is so so good. Both bands sound phenomenal.

as a fan that getting sick of their repetitive way of touring the same songs over and over again i can only imagine how sick i would be of it if i were actually in the band. no surprise hed rather give time to this new and exciting thing. and not surprising tucker might be built different and be okay with doing both. but nothing ive seen indicates tim is no longer in thursday at all, figure some of those LS Dunes press pieces might have said "ex-thursday" if it were the case lol

I saw video of Tim playing bass with Thursday as recently as September so it could very well just be that Tim wants to be home this month with his family for the upcoming holidays

I’m seeing this band tomorrow because I love FC an Anthony Green is opening, but I do hope they start shaking things up next year. There is truly no need for a 22-year anniversary tour for FC lol

I want to see some more material from their last three albums, even if it only amounts to half of the setlist!

That’s about the last thing I want to hear, the last time I saw them was a WATT show lol

  9. Yeah if they’re not gonna release new music can we get a no dev play through or something

I’d like a WATT tour since I have yet to see steps ascending or asleep in the chapel and it’s not FC but I agree this is nauseating at this point. Who is left that hasn’t seen this record twice? What songs that weren’t already set list staples are people going to see?

  11. Concealer and How Long Is the Night are about it off the top of my head and it’s not like either of those are super rarities

I Am the Killer, Standing on the Edge of Summer, and especially Wind-Up are also not guaranteed. I agree though that, after tonight (unless the lineup just kills), I’ve had my fill of FC.

I wouldn’t mind seeing WATT again though. I barely remember the night I saw them play that album in its entirety.

I would trade FC shows for WATT shows for more chances to see Asleep in the Chapel and Steps Ascending and WATT (which I know they play a lot more frequently than the other 2 but whatever)

Shot my shot on Twitter the other day asking what the odds were that they’d bust out Running From the Rain tonight and Geoff said “We don’t normally take requests, but someone requested this” and you bet your sweet ass they played Running From the Rain

I got a year put back on my life after that one, let me tell you

  17. Awesome! That was one of only two City songs they played last time I saw them

I can’t believe I’ve seen half of City live at this point. Never thought I’d see any songs from it, then went from seeing The Other Side of the Crash, Counting, and At this Velocity in their first year back to also seeing Running From the Rain and Autumn Leaves Revisited this year.

Hope to see Sugar in the Sacrament, The Lovesong Writer, and/or Into the Blinding Light some day!

Patiently waiting for the price of that Full Collapse Anniv. vinyl to drop somewhere around $60-70.

I don’t know how to look anything up but what are their biggest songs on streaming? Is it all FC?

  22. cricketandclover

    Things have changed.

Six of the 10 on Spotify are FC. Three WATT and then their Buzzcocks cover.

Maybe that's why they keep doing it then. Just seems like they keep saying they are giving the people what they want. Not sure how they know that unless they are just looking at streaming numbers. I agree with people in here that it's time to move on but I know they are all older now and it's probably easier to go with the safe bet when it comes to what will give them the most $$$. I saw their WATT show last time they did the FC/WATT run so I'm good on both albums but if they keep selling out shows playing FC can't fault them. Love this band so anything that keeps them going is good in my book.

They were very vocal how much they hated touring on Common Existence because of the poor reception they got at shows. Considering they broke up not even one full calendar year after releasing No Devolucion, I’m sure they feel far more inclined to playing songs they know fans are gonna turn up for.

I think it's fair though, instead of doing full album shows, to just tailor most of the set to FC/WATT and each night sprinkle in a couple of deep cuts off ACBTD, CE, ND (OR WAITING!!!). Last time I saw them doing just a general set they played 9 total from FC and WATT then 2 each from ACBTLD and ND and one from CE.

It'd also be nice if they actually expanded their set to a 18-20 song set instead of 13-16 each show.

I get that their shows probably aren't easy on Geoff's voice, so probably the reason for the short set(s).
