If Ricky doesn’t win next week this week’s promo was all for nothing

 

MJF as champ made sense when Punk was still around - I dunno if it makes any sense right now

 

I doubt MJF drops the title this soon but hopefully they keep them in a program for the next few months

 

That’s asinine. The title has been passed around directionless for too long already. Ricky’s promo was incredible but we don’t need instant gratification all the time. MJF’s character needs to establish himself as a champion and cheat and beat up loved babyfaces (which can often benefit their character too) and if you want to cut it short unexpectedly my vote will always be for an overconfident MJF dropping it to Eddie Kingston in a shocking loss.

 

Yeah i loved starks' promo, but having mjf drop the belt already would be pretty bad booking.

 

Starks is in that Acclaimed range - maybe he won’t win next week but he needs to win it soon

No it wouldn’t - bad booking is what they did with regal and BCC this past month

you gotta have a champ drop it shortly after winning sometimes to create some unpredictably - Starks is the perfect guy to win it because I think his star is bigger than MJF’s

MJF is gonna be over no matter if he’s holding the title or not - he was a made star because of the Punk feud already

 

I mean I guess if MJF cheats and wins it’ll be fine and I guess you find a lesser program for Starks and put him back in the mid card and have MJF go on to face and beat Danielson next

I'd rather have Ricky chase it for a month or two. Not every feud has to be over after 2 matches or so.

Also mjf's whole reign of terror shtick would be kinda stupid if he loses the title after 4 weeks already.

 

It’s not really a terrible take - I think Starks benefits more from a win next week than MJF - plus you can absolutely go into a real interesting character storyline for MJF if he loses the belt so soon after being so cocky about it last week

 

I think it would lead to a really interesting character arc for MJF

Changing the title next week would hurt both Starks and MJF imo.

 

Only one wrestler can hold the championship at a time. For it to mean anything, a lot of our favorites are gonna be without it for long stretches. That’s okay, I get being scared of mismanagement or missing a big moment, but let characters develop towards it.

 

MJF has had 3 years of build leading to something like a run to this, Ricky turned babyface what? 2 months ago? Cmoonnnnnnnnn man
