You haven’t played any others? I was also considering Blood Wash since it’s also available on console

Not yet, but I bought them all immediately after I played Murder House, haha.

If you don’t want to spend the money, you can probably get them all on gog-games.com

  4. Nightmare Weekend is completely incoherent, unbelievably horny, and aesthetic as hell. It sucks in the best way. Watching Heck after this is going to be quite the vibe switch.

  5. Yep, Heck is very unsettling and definitely a precursor to Skinamarink. Anything that's slightly off was fortunately tweaked for the film, but it is still aesthetically on point and so, so creepy in the way it preys on childhood memories. Ball is weaponizing nostalgia in these films and it's honestly brilliant

gotta watch that. "Skinamarink but under 30 minutes" sounds absolutely perfect to me lol

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

Watched Smile last night. Was actually quite a bit better than I was expecting. Reminded me a lot of It Follows and The Ring.

Ready for some spooky christmas flicks.

  10. i wonder if that will be as cool in the theater than at home, honestly. it felt extra creepy to me watching it at home, for some reason.

  11. Agree, but I also can't imagine it not being scary on a giant screen in the dark

  12. I forgot to post in here on Friday but I rewatched The Loved Ones and oh my god, it's almost perfect. So funny and fucked up and Bonkers with a capital B. I feel like a real movie critic because the only way I can think to describe it is "gleefully perverse" haha

  13. Hah, Violent Night is awesome

pretty interesting night tonight, got around to watching two new ones by some of my favourite filmmakers and they complimented each other well

Something in the Dirt is some zonked out, 3am, caffeine brain type shit and I loved it haha. this movie is like the Charlie Kelly Pepe meme meets mumblecore meets lo-fi cosmic sci-fi, filmed inside one apartment in the pandemic. I imagine people going in expecting horror will be disappointed, but Benson & Moorhead still have an insanely good touch with building a genuine, relatable relationship dynamic inside a batshit crazy story. on par with The Endless, but still below Resolution for me

next up I watched Until I Consume You, first film I've seen by Perry Blackshear since They Look Like People in 2015 which is an all-time favourite. this dude has a way of making his films so raw and intimate, it's almost uncomfortable to watch at times and a scene early on in this one nearly made me tap out. but there's a genuine emotional thread running through both his films I've seen that really rings true and he understands exactly when to pepper in some good scares so his films don't turn into a depressing slog. it's another one I doubt people would enjoy if they don't connect with it but idk, it's one of the most emotional movies I've seen all year

I've had "They Look Like People" on my radar for years but keep passing over it for some reason. I need to commit to it this week.
