Our school showed the movie with the nudity included, which is weird in retrospect because the actress was 16 years old in the film

Saw this on an article about Tarantino and I think I’ve had enough internet for the rest of my life now.

  11. One high school teacher showed us The Truman Show and W;t (for English), another showed us As Good as it Gets (AP Psych) and a couple episodes of The West Wing (Gov/Econ). (And K-PAX but I can't remember the context, probably also AP Psych, and also fuck Kevin Spacey)

  12. Last year I let my students watch The Good Dinosaur on the day before winter break.

  13. I can't remember if it was fifth grade or sometime in middle school but for an end of year pizza party we watched Lilo and Stitch, and y'all know how much I love Lilo and Stitch.

One year in middle school (at the Christian school I went to), the history teacher showed us the movie Gettysburg through several classes. Don’t remember how long it took, but I remember it taking forever; the film is over 4 hrs.

When that was over… he started showing us some Civil War documentary. Pretty sure we spent over half the year on the Civil War, and over half the year watching a tv instead of being taught.

  15. we all had that old social studies teacher who had totally given up on actually teaching

I’ve seen some truly heartbreaking and/or depressing films but something about that one is just brutal. I can’t imagine showing that to a classroom of kids.
