It’s only drop one of 3 I was told

He could have 10 more drops and if all of them were comparable to this one, it still wouldn’t be worth paying $300 for

Yeah and it's not like they're saving the big guns for drop #3.

To each their own, and obviously I'm not telling anyone how to feel but uhhh, that lineup is absolutely atrocious for me. What does phase one mean? Just part of the line up or is it 2 separate concerts? I mean it's not even meh for me, like it's straight up bad.

Everybody is talking about band finances... Let me ask this? Is it fair to charge fans $60 for a hoodie at shows and $30 for a t-shirt?

I don't think it's fair to charge that price for either item ha. But I'm guilty by paying it and allowing it to continue. I think it was mr loop daddy that brought this up and fought against this, but merch is often more at shows as the venue takes a cut of the merch sold so the bands sells it for more to counter that. Like, the band brings their own shit, their own people to sell it, and the people to buy it (who also gave the venue money for a ticket and alcohol), and then they want the bands merch money too? The merch should 100% be all the bands money.

In an ideal world, $20-$25 for a t shirt and $35-$40 for a hoody and I expect them to be unique items that I can't get at the bands shop or merchnow (until after the tour - I'll pay a first dibs premium if you will). I'm also a sucker and tip on top of most merch too.

$50 T-shirts and $90 'Zero' hoodies at the Smashing Pumpkins show!

  11. I used to love getting a band’s shirt and other merch at a show, but for bigger shows, I don’t even bother going to the table. $30 for a tee shirt isn’t gonna happen.

$30 doesn’t seem bad at all compared To the 40-50 at major artists shows

And this is direct revenue for the artist too. I try to support at shows and shows and tip as much as I can.

I’d love if shirts were $30 haha I feel like lately I’ve been seeing $45 for shirts, $70 for long sleeves, $150 for jackets

if a shirt is well made and they put an effort into the design $30 can be fair, I think it should be illegal to sell ugly merch hint hint Taylor

If it's printed on Comfort Colors or Independent, I'd generally say it's worth it. If you're charging $30 for a one color screenprint on Gildan, then that's kinda fucked unless it's at a venue that takes merch cuts and they gotta make the difference up.

I don't mind dropping $25-30 on a shirt when it's a smaller band and I know it's helping support them, but I'm not too keen on dropping $40-50 for a shirt at a stadium show

Honestly I don't even remember the last band shirt I bought... I think it was some Valencia special edition shirt over a decade ago.

Idk if this is the right thread for this, but I was at Bad Omens' Minneapolis show tonight, and HOLY FUCK, it was so oversold. People were stuck in the lobby and couldn't get in because the bottleneck at the entrances was so bad and there was so little space. Plus, there were people passing out and getting in fights because they were all crammed in so tight. I was fine cause I was near the front and way from all the traffic, but I had a friend who vomited and nearly passed out due to the crowd crush.

Absolute disaster, fuck the Skyway Theatre, and stay safe at shows y'all.

yup. not to mention 3 months prior is kinda late to be announcing a destination new years show, especially when at that time they were promoting a destination halloween show (which i can only imagine is more desirable to the average misfits fan). and no disrespect to circle jerks, but i also think they are significantly less of a draw than some of their prior direct supports (alice cooper, dropkick murphys, rise against)
