For those unaware, in an act of censorship, FIFA and Qatar are trying to get nations to agree to wear captain’s armbands with generic inclusive messages to avoid them wearing rainbow ones. It has not gone well.

I highly suspect we won't. And if we do, a player might be deported or something stupid.

I don't think we'll see anything too major from players/ teams, but think there'll be something major from protest groups at some point. Press conferences getting upstaged, banners, things like that.

I think it's much more likely we have a Fyre Fest type incident though. Those tents in the fan village seem ripe for it. My prediction is the air conditioning systems in the stadiums failing.

 

Depends what you mean by protests. If players wearing arm bands count sure. But anything more than superficial things like that, highly doubtful.
