Latest iOS 16.2 Beta Lets You Disable Wallpaper and Notifications for Always On Display

 

I’ve complained about this before, but my biggest gripe/annoyance with iOS is not being able to actually clear a notification that comes through when I’m using my phone. On iOS 14 and before, you could pull down on a notification at the top of the screen and there would be an X you could tap to get rid of it for good. Now you just have to swipe it away and it gets sent to your Notification Centre. If I’ve already seen it, why do I want to see it again? Particularly annoying when it comes to sports score updates. No idea why they got rid of such a simple functionality

 

Has anyone ever just used a skin (Dbrand or something similar) and a screen protector on their phone and not a full case? I've been toying with the idea of ditching the case and just going with the skin to protect scratches and then of course the screen protector. I know it's not going to protect from big drops, but curious if anyone has any experience on how it holds up on day to day use?

Now that Apple Care has unlimited claims for damages it has me thinking some potential crazy and reckless thoughts.

 

I Never used a case before. My screen is scratched to hell and back but the device itself is in pristine condition

While using Kahoot yesterday Safari unexpectedly quit and restarted followed by 'LifeProxy' appearing and asking to be allowed access. I denied it and uninstalled 'LifeProxy' but but each Google search redirected to Yahoo. I deleted all Safari extensions and used an app to locate any viruses and delete them but the redirect to Yahoo is still happening.

Any suggestions?

Decided to put the money I’d set aside for Taylor tickets into new AirPods instead and wow, you guys are right, the 2nd gen Pros are noticeably clearer than the originals. Bass is almost startlingly different and the highs are also crisp in a way they weren’t before.

Also had no idea you could adjust volume with the stem now, that’s super cool

 

This is how I feel about people paying a thousand dollar for arguably the best industrial design around and then sticking it into an ugly case. with all due respect ;)

 

Genuinely don’t understand how your phone body could be in pristine condition without a case, unless you have a skin on lol

 

I don’t know what to tell ya bud, I just put it in my pocket and it only gets scratches on the display.
I also never drop anything. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

Yeah I just don't want scratches on mine. And I twirl/flip my phone all the time in my left hand, and can drop it at times. So I'm just protecting it from the inevitable. And my case lets me flip my phone easier. (I hold my phone in my left hand - screen up, twirl it counter clockwise once in spinning it on my index finger and repeat that until my brain is happy). And everybody has an iPhone so they and me know what one looks like. I'm using a Speck magsafe grip black case currently. Never used Speck before but I like it well enough.

I really love how it feels without a case though. I just can't do it. I/it feel so vulnerable.

the only reason I have an apple case on my iPhone 14 is to add a little grip. caseless is soooo nice, but it feels awkward to hold

also to make it some what stable when laying down on a table

 

I never understood why people cared what color phone they got when they just stuck it in a case anyway and never actually see the color

 

If you just want scratch protection and some grip, I highly recommend Peel cases. Super thin and transparent and you can get colored ones too that add a little something to your phone but still let the Apple design and branding shine through. Apple Leather case for me. I love my phone without a case, but it does noooot stay in my hands without a case. Too slippery!

love all the different takes. gonna make the jump to the skin/no case life and see how that works out.

 

Need a case so my phone lays flat. I hate that the camera bump causes it to rock. If they made a flush back I wouldn’t have a case.
