Returnal was great. I didn't think it was as hard as others thought, it was certainly difficult in certain areas, but I would say it was punishing or Bloodborne level or anything.

 

Didn't they add some sort of co-op to that as well?

Im skeptical as ive only played 2 games that (i think) are similar in the 'loop' style of gameplay, and i struggled to finish (aka i didnt) both - hades and control. I have no doubt its a gorgeous game, but may not be my style.

 

Control does not have loop style gameplay, did you mean something else?

Control is just a regular 3D-metroidvania.

 

Returnal was hard for me because of the bullet hell aspect, still need to go back to it

Control doesnt have save points but a check point sort of system that requires back tracking and redos so it became a loop for me ha! I know its not part of the story but its a hard game, that forced me to repeat a lot of encounters.

I spend most of my time in the county and my neighborhood is basically the county lol it’s much softer there

 

The game mechanically is your typical third person shooter but with rougelike elements. Iirc, it’s on Plus Premium?

 

yeah Returnal is really punishing imo, especially since the runs are rather long.

that said it is my favorite PS5 exclusive and it's not even close

3d roguelike sounds daunting. I installed but haven't started Deathloop.

at least 3d metroidvania is basically open world with more retreading
