I love how sunny gets a pass being buddy buddy with joe hardcore after the million horrible things he has done over the years. When that kid was almost beaten to death at the show around this is hardcore it was crickets.

 

80/20 is pretty standard. The only shows I remember working that were 75/25 were Harry Styles.

Good on them. Bands aren't nearly as decisive as they should be when that kind of behavior is brought to their attention, and while I've never really listened to them, seeing them do the right thing (and quickly) makes me want to give them a listen.

 

Same here. Never heard of them before but gonna give them a few listens just out of them making a great and quick decision.

 

This happened in less than three hours if my math is correct, maybe the quickest "accountability" I've seen... Ever?

 

I just think about how traumatizing it must be for someone to come forward with a story of abuse from a member of a band and then nothing happening until it goes public. It reminds me a lot of The Front Bottoms situation and whether any action would have been taken if these women did not go public in the first place.

Obviously it’s great he is out of the band and they did something quickly, but would this ousting have happened if it had not gone public?

 

Probably not because it’s highly unlikely the rest of the band were even aware of it prior to it going public

Re: the Billie thing -- and I'm asking in good faith, because I genuinely don't know the answer to these questions and think the words we use are important -- did they interact frequently when she was underage? If not, is it still "grooming," or are people more upset that she's dating someone 10 years older than her? Is it reductive to presume an adult woman can't date who she wants to, and if not, how old would she need to be for it not to be an accountability issues?

 

It would be less creepy if they had not met when she was 15 and he decided to date her now that she is of legal age

 

They met when she was 15 and he was the singer of her favorite band which is an unfair power dynamic but it's unclear if they maintained a relationship
