if modern baseball isn’t on this, just let this fest die.

I have a feeling that John D himself will eventually leak the lineup a few days in advance just to create "buzz"

This was one of the first bands that came to mind for me when John D started taking about reunions. I’d fly out for this if MoBo plays

Which reunion do you guys think would be a bigger deal between Modern Baseball and Title Fight?

Modern Baseball and I don’t think it’s even that close.

Title Fight was much more niche, MoBo quickly became THE band in the scene at that time. I remember going to see The Wonder Years/The Story So Far tour in 2014, MoBo played 2nd out of 4 and so many people left after they played. I'd imagine they're just as popular now as they were when they broke up, maybe more

Would anybody really care all that much about a Title Fight reunion? I feel like that whole thing fizzled. And the trend(s) they were riding at the time have pretty much died down... And even at the time nobody was running around going "OMG! Title Fight is everything to me! I relate to it so much!" Whereas that was pretty much MoBo's whole thing.

They were the band for a lot of people. Like, their favorite band at a specific moment in time. And they were just starting to crossover into slightly more mainstream territory in a way that Title Fight hadn't.

MoBo also has the benefit of Slaughter Beach, Dog being a relatively popular band that's kept people interested in one of that band's key members too...

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

Both would definitely be a huge deal in this scene, but Modern Baseball always had more mainstream appeal. Title Fight would be awesome for limited engagements, like Sound & Fury, TIHC, etc, but Modern Baseball could come back in full force if they wanted to and probably not miss a beat.

I get genuinely sad about the MoBo break up like once a month lol Would love to have them back. Hope it's not Bamboozle though cus I'm already committed to Adjacent and that would really put me in a position.

I’m so hype to see slaughter beach dog next week, it’s going to be nostalgic.

I saw that band was added to the Adjacent lineup and I had no clue it was the guy from MB. Will check them out later!

I really want to see SB,D on Tuesday but I couldn't go to the original date and the rescheduled one was sold out before I even realized he was coming back so I'm sad

    Die rad.

would rather just get an honest answer out of this and not crucified or whatever, but do we think Brand New will possibly get back together for one performance at this? We all know the Jesse backlash, but look at Saves The Day recently and how tehy just did 5 sold out shows after Chris's resurgence. And his allegations were much more recent.

John said in an interview he reached out to BN for this and they replied that it was not the right time, whatever that means.

its important to keep in mind that most fans and every day listeners are not as up to date with allegations and abuse reports as we are here, the Jesse news broke into fairly mainstream music news outlets but I don't remember seeing anything about Chris other than on this forum. it is highly likely that the majority of people who are still out there supporting STD simply don't know about anything that came to light.

I definitely think there's a chance Brand New might be one of the "reunions" they keep hyping. When Jesse said it wasn't the "right time" that was a few years back... Really gross if it happens. Even grosser will be the demonstration that people just don't care about the allegations in the end.

most BN fans not on this website have been ready for their reunion since winter 2018. they're long over it, if they ever cared at all.

A Brand New reunion would draw big, not necessarily because people dont care about the allegations, but mainly because they just don't know about them.
I think us on these forums kinda live in our own community. We don't just consume music, we consume the news and developments about the artists and all that stuff. But I've got a lot of friends who consider themselves huge fans of Brand New, Arcade Fire, Saves the Day etc who just have no clue about any of these allegations. I brought up the Jesse shit to a buddy earlier this year and I blew his mind. Being young adults raising toddlers, growing careers, buying homes and all those other responsibilities makes it hard for most fans to stay in the loop.

Hopefully most promoters/festivals would have better morals than to book them, but that is not something John D has. If anyone would book their reunion, it'd be him.

Not to add any fuel to the Brand New rumors and of course this likely means absolutely nothing but the bands website just dropped new merch

I live in NY so wouldn't need to fly but man there really is no band in the world i'd rather have back than them. My one and only tattoo is MoBo related after all.

The thing is with them though.. a lot of bands seem to have broken up because the passion was gone, they weren't making money, etc.. I think the depression issues that Bren was (is?) going through were so serious that i'm not sure they really ever will get back together. If any of you are fans and have not seen Tripping In the Dark (MoBo documentary), it is definitely worth a watch. Really chilling stuff - Bren talks about how Cam from Sorority noise (another band I would love to see reunite!) saved his life from suicide.

I echo the sentiments of @mattfreaksmeout though that I get sad about their breakup randomly very often as well though!

Also John D posted a cryptic message on his Facebook that people think has hints in it.

it seems to go out of its way to mention Mind Reading which people are taking as an ADTR reference

    Here's the post:

Somebody should probably tell him that over the last 15+ years, festival announcements have evolved. This inane gibberish isn't cute or fun.

He also posted a giant Wonka candy logo and said "reunions are surrounding me."

EDIT: Jedi Mind Tricks would make perfect sense given these hints.
