Closest thing we're probably getting to a confirmation that the Play! Pavilion is axed. According to Brayden the reason being labor costs and labor shortages. The nature of running the attraction would make it too labor intensive and Disney execs didn't feel like it's draw would make up for the costs.

and lately (2 or 3 years?) they’ve had the photo op area that makes it look like you’re in a good guy dolls box

I’m hoping the early reveal means that they want to really do the franchise justice and make something impressive

Just booked a weekend trip to Epcot in January. Pretty excited since it's the only Disney World park I haven't visited, but with our luck, we'll have snow or something that weekend.

That area has desperately needed a refresh for a long while now. Excited to see what goes on there.

Gotta imagine it will be some combination of DreamWorks or Illumination IPs.

  21. Today is our last day at Universal Orlando (my first time here). Top three rides were the Velocicoaster, Harry Potter's Forbidden Journey, and Jurassic Park River Adventure. Honorable mentions to Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure and The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. Some really top-notch combinations of practical effects and motion simulation happening on some of the newer rides.

The long rumor i've heard is the plan for a Pokemon themed land in that area. Including a Pokemon Snap ride.

The plans i've long read about is they want to spread Nintendo IP across the three main parks like they do with Harry Potter.. Mario/DK for EU, Pokemon for the Kidzone area of US, and Zelda replacing Lost Continent in IoA.

While that would be very cool, I don’t think that’s what’s in the cards for KidsZone. Alicia Stella, who is usually pretty on point with her analysis, seems to think that DreamWorks Destination was a sort of trial run with those characters in that section of the park, and that the land will be completely reworked around DreamWorks and/or Illumination IP.

I think they’ll save Pokémon for the first expansion plot next to Mario at Epic Universe.

Thinking about it Pokemon might be too big for that area. Maybe they're saving it for the eventual rework of Toon Lagoon or hell I can't think of a bigger more valuable IP they could use if they ever want to finally do away with the painfully outdated Marvel Super Hero Island.

I am still 100% convinced though Zelda is destined for Lost Continent. The leaked concept art i saw years ago shows it's smaller scale corresponds exactly with Lost Continent.
