Yeah he put up 850+ yards his first two years with bad QBs who weren't capable of taking advantage of Claypool's best skills. I think a 2nd is high but Bears definitely needed to do someone to their receiver group.

 

while this may be true

A) the Bears arent going anywhere this year
B) that doesnt mean you need to trade a top ~40 pick for a guy who has underwhelmed the past 2 years

 

Bears definitely could have got a better receiver this offseason if that is a top 10 2nd round pick. Maybe not in the draft but I bet via trade.

 

He probably would have done pretty well with Aaron Rodgers lol

 

I think they’re seeing Fields play better and are trying to finally help give him a proper evaluation

I think this is true, just something they probably should have done this past offseason. This is a win now trade cost imo.
