Can't see the Eagles wanting to take Hines since they can't restructure his contract.

Why would they need to restructure Hines’ contract?

Coutnerpoint: Hines is good. Gainwell is not.

I don’t think he necessarily needs to. I think they could use a more consistent runner than Sanders, but Sanders has improved in his consistency in recent weeks and they can plug just about anybody back there and get at least solid production thanks to Hurts and the offensive line.

What I think they really need is someone who can be a more consistent pass blocker to help pick up blitzes because everyone the Eagles have has been nothing more than mediocre at best there. Hines’ has some return upside too, which could help them replace Britain Covey on special teams.

Isn't his cap hit like over 6 million dollars? Can't imagine they'd want to tie up money in a position they don't really seem to value.

His cap hit this year is $5.14m, nearly half of which will have been paid by the Colts if they traded him at this point. Next year is when Hines is owed $6m, half of which they could save by cutting him.

I think he’d be a good get for the Eagles so they can roll with him and a rookie next year.

    The rivalry is back on

idk, I think this supports Steichen more than it diminishes him

good offensive HC/good OC plays (see: Pederson/Reich, Reich/Sirianni, presumably Sirianni/Steichen)

good offensive HC/mediocre “yes man” OC does not (see: Pederson/Groh, Reich/Brady)

I will be floored if the Jets trade for a defensive end. It's our deepest position group and we just spent a first rounder on Jermaine Johnson.
