It’s hard to find something that gives me the same vibes as self-titled LANY, but there are a lot of groups that top the last two LANY albums.

Hopefully they can finally deliver a proper follow-up to Malibu Nights

 

I think those days are over.

Paul seems to want to write more up tempo songs. Doubt we’ll get another album like the EPs + 2 LPs

I made a list and 9 out 10 of my favorite LANY songs are all slow songs which I think fit better with Paul’s vocals. Oh well

 

I can't imagine still holding onto hope that this band is going to write good songs again. Seems like they've proven pretty firmly that they've lost the touch.

 

Plus Paul is an abuser so . . .

This is the first new song they’ve released since those accusations, right? How did their people OK this? Do they even have people anymore?

Don’t think the new song is as bad as people are saying. They’ve definitely put out worse. That said, they’ll never capture that self-titled magic again.

 

I could spin that record for days

 

Heading to their concert in Taipei now. 2nd of two sold-out shows. Pretty surprised.

Decided to spin Kinda and LANY this week. Feels like a total separate and competent band compared to gg bb xx

 

Despite their last two albums being pretty blahhhhh, as a live band LANY is pretty good, especially when they play tracks from Malibu Nights. If only lead singer Paul wasn't such a weirdo

 

Yeah, Paul is a fuckboi and I wouldn’t recommend anyone date him. His lyrics can be pretty bad, too.

I also agree their pre-Mama’s Boy stuff (i’ll toss ‘sad’ in there) still stands on its own both live and in the studio. I haven’t found anything to replace it. My most played albums from 2018 - 2022 have been LANY’s first two releases.

 

Dropped a full live album from this time last year at the forum. It’s dope.

 

‘Up to Me’ is a great live bop.

Their recent Asia tour has been impressive. 2 sold out 4k shows here in Taiwan as well as multiple sold out shows in Bangkok, Singapore, and Manila (5 nights in a row for a 20k venue).

Not really sure what it is but people like them here.

 

He’s a tool and the quality of the songs has dropped but he’s got pipes, they perform well, and they constantly churn stuff out. They do a lot of things right. I’d honestly love a piano-based solo effort from him. Cut out the goofy shit and just sing.

 

An album of songs like ‘13’ and ‘Valentine’s Day’….once can dream

 

My wife snd I saw them for the first time last October and loved the show.

despite an awful title, I didn’t think the last album was bad. I love Paul’s voice, so as long as he doesn’t bring back the country accent, I’m sure I’ll like at least a few songs. Interested to hear what the future output sounds like with Les gone

Forgettable track. Sounds like a b-side from Mama’s Boy.
