I think it depends how you got in. We got off the monorail and stopped in line right by the festival grounds, but it appeared that it was a community formed line that formed organically because there were cross walks so you had to stop for traffic, and a line just naturally formed. We passed someone going the other way and they said there's no line as once you get to the gate, it opens up into like 30 entries and it's super wide so whatever single form line there was, it disappeared anyway at that point.

However, some friends who walked from the strat seemed to have been forced into a line by cops and they were there much earlier, but waited much longer in line.

All in, I got on the monorail at the first stop at 10 and got into the fest around 11:45.

I don't recommend the monorail if you're getting on at a later stop. It fills up quick.

Also, I didn't have the same experience with security. They checked the date on the ticket thoroughly and took a pretty good look at my clear bag to see what was in there.

RE illegal substances - i hid some edibles and Adderall (not mine) in an ear bud container and had an obvious non cig vape pen that I was skeptical about getting taken away, but they didn't look at it that closely. I wouldn't have taken a marked bag of edibles in though but who knows.

 

what stop did you get off at? westgate?

I had a few friends that literally stood outside the venue gates to watch Paramore and My Chem last weekend after their Day 1 tickets were cancelled and they were able to hear everything completely fine and still see a little bit with no hassle from security.

 

My friends and I considered doing that too but were afraid we’d look like a grounded little kid looking through the window at their friends playing. Haha.

How did AAR book the BBQ show last Saturday so fast? They heard winds over 40 mph would have cancelled the concert and started planning the night before.

I wore a Matches shirt last Sunday and one (1) person seemed to notice/say something about it, but yes they absolutely need to be on a bill for one of these.

 

I'm shocked Valencia isn't on either this year or next.

Took a flight from NJ to Vegas today and noticed Frank from My Chem on the flight. Super cool guy.

I actually noticed that too -- most bands started and ended literally at the EXACT scheduled time. A few bands ran early on the Neon stage though.

Overall, I have the same sentiment as others. That was a fucking blast. The middle of the crowds contained almost no pushing/shoving/etc, which I enjoyed. When I was 22 I would mosh all day all night at Warped, but my 28 year old self appreciated being able to just hang and watch the bands haha.

 

By the way -- they had a merch pop-up tent all day today and tomorrow from 8AM - 3PM to address the issue of long merch lines from last week. Really does seem like they listen to feedback and adjust pretty quickly.
