if the standby wait was short i would pay $25 just so i could ride it twice quickly

 

It’s been hovering around 70 all day. I’m just personally anxious about being able to hit other things

 

70 mins is nothing, thats probably 45-50 mins tops. id jump on the line asap.

 

Think we’re gonna wait a bit then see where it’s at. Gonna hit up Jungle Cruise and Pirates next after lunch then we’ve got a reservation of Indiana Jones

 

Lol rise broke down right when we were about to get on

So right now we’ve got a pass for Big Thunder, then gonna grab dinner, come back and get on Haunted Mansion and Rise again (hopefully) to end the day

 

We got right past Rey’s message and then we were told it was down

 

Matterhorn was ROUGH

 

Here’s some thoughts after 2 days at DCA/Disneyland

It pretty much met all of my expectations, I had a great time. My fiancé expected more thrill rides/coasters so she was a little bit let down, but it was her very first time and she went in really blind. Kinda wish we hadn’t gone around Halloween because it was so busy at Disneyland yesterday but I also don’t know when it isn’t busy.

Web Slingers wasn’t great, but it would have been fine if we’d waited half an hour instead of an hour and a half. Guardians was so awesome both ways, that and Space Mountain were my fiancé’s favorite rides. IncrediCoaster rocked, I may have been looking forward to that one the most. Cars Land was really great too, Avengers Campus kinda meh.

We got to do pretty much everything we wanted at Disneyland, all the big big rides except for Splash Mountain. Haunted Mansion was good but I wish I’d gotten to ride it in its true form and not the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay, plus we had 5 or 6 pauses during the ride so it threw off the momentum. Indiana Jones & Jungle Cruise were really fun as well.

Galaxy’s Edge looked amazing, and I wish we’d had more time to explore that area. We didn’t bother trying Smuggler’s Run. Rise of The Resistance was nuts. I was so thrown off by the way the vehicles moved. We had a cast member in our vehicle and something he did gave away one of the big moments but man, it was fun.

1 more day at the parks would have been perfect I think, if we had done that we wouldn’t have had to rush and we could have hit some smaller stuff like Peter Pan & Alice in Wonderland & Toy Story Midway Mania. I also have no idea how you could possibly manage the parks without Genie+ unless you’re just really ok with long lines or you’re visiting for a week.

 

i am so, so, so glad i went into Rise not knowing anything about the drop - was such a fun moment

 

Yeah that what was given away, but only by about a second or two

 

WDW Haunted Mansion > DL Haunted Mansion Holiday > DL Haunted Mansion imo

I did WDW 5ish years ago and that trip (not knowing anything about any parks beforehand) is what really sparked my interest in this

 

i love WDW's Jingle Cruise for the holidays. such a fun little twist. for whatever reason i have probably visited most around christmas so I think i've experienced that version more than the regular lol

 

nothin like WDW during the holidays. I miss the Osborne Lights :(

 

Fun fact, I used to think that display had something to do with The Osbornes when I was a kid.

My husband proposed at the dessert party they did for the final year of the Osborne lights; we made a special trip just to see them (and extended for an extra day or two, of course).

this is only theme park adjacent but I just want to shout out my local haunt Demented FX and how much they plussed it up this year. They added original characters, theming, and storyline to the queue, and the actual haunted house is insane with movie quality production value throughout. I wish I could find an actual walk through the house but this video I found on YouTube at least shows how fun the queue is
