Isn't Pennyworth in the same continuity as Gotham? idk what Pennyworth is like but Gotham is pretty bad and also often very entertaining.

Hard to believe Pennyworth is in its third season, though. And a bit baffling considering they canceled Batgirl, and Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman even before that. Young Justice is still up in the air. At least we're getting new seasons of Titans and Doom Patrol, but those were probably close to finished by the time of Zazlav's dumpster fire of a takeover. Honestly have very little faith in DC right now, they've lost every bit of goodwill. Canceling every project that had queer/poc representation would do that. That was the one thing they had over Marvel and they fucked it up bad.

 

The new Mole was ... OK, I guess. I hate that it's just standard Netflix casting of all young people (could have airdropped them all into The Circle or THTH and not known the difference) without real interesting characters outside of a couple people. The tasks were also ... weirdly hard to follow at some points?

 

I have 3 episodes left but I've been enjoying it. I do agree with the casting though. Part of what made the original mole so great was the age differences of all the players.

I mean i like the concept of a doc about a therapist and their process to demystify it, but am i in the wrong for thinking this particular take on it with Jonah Hill making it all about himself seems wildly smug and self-indulgent?

 

Yes you are. People seeing someone they’ve been watching for years being vulnerable and opening up and seeing what good therapy can do is a great idea.

Dark is fantastic. One of the best shows ever.

 

The first episode of Cabinet of Curiosities was pretty cool, mostly because Tim Blake Nelson is great.

the promo for that show is so bizarre lol, they threw it up on YouTube without advertising it but it still isn't on Disney+. they really never had any idea what they were doing with that show

regardless the episode was so good and i still haven't recovered from it

I liked it. Maybe Netflix has desensitized me with so much crap that something mediocre comes off great but I thought this was fun. It gets really silly in the end and very redundant with chasing every suspect but ill take it. Campy on purpose worked for me. Whodunnits are my jam so I'm sucker

Watched the first three episodes of the new season of Documentary Now! last night. The two parter goofing on Werner Herzog was incredible.

Also went and watched that 80's BBC doc on Youtube the other episode was about. and they did a crazy job recreating that.
