Total outsiders perspective that I’m sure is 99% wrong because it doesn’t seem like something Embiid would admit or actually think of but it seems almost every year he’s worn down by the end of the season and gets battered in the playoffs. I’m sure somewhere in his mind the thought of, “Christ this is the 3rd game of the season, im not gonna go 100% on every possession, I’m going to spare my body the extra miles and fatigue” comes up.

He’s still putting up great numbers so it’s not like he’s disappeared entirely, my assumption is he’s just not gonna go 1,000 mph every single game of a long season - which is the smart thing to do and what most stars do

I don't think this is wrong at all. He's also a notoriously slow starter - even last year, he was only decent for the first bunch of games. Throw in the plantar fasciitis this summer, and it doesn't lend itself to the conditioning we'd like to see.
