Hey, listen, I'm excited and good for all of those who decided to listen to it now. But I'm old school and I will keep waiting.

14 hours and 31 one minutes left.

yeah plus for me anyway I’m way more likely to actually comment in threads and engage when it’s a band or album I love so it probably looks like I only think albums coming out are the best thing ever. I listen to plenty of stuff I don’t love but I’m way less likely to go voice that opinion in a thread unless a band I like has let me down, like the new blink single.

In my humble opinion it’ll be worth the wait because after two listens I think this album is pretty incredible.

the baby line may be the worst thing she's ever written and that includes hey kids spelling is fun

this is definitely going to be a grower as an album; it's getting better with every listen.

Haven't listened to a second of this album yet, but... bold take about the worst thing she's written. I'm not sure she could ever write/sing anything worse than that.

I’m definitely guilty of overreacting on first listen, whether it’s in a positive direction or more “meh,” but also we all (hopefully) understand that our thoughts on music are naturally going to evolve over time, I don’t see anyone saying “this is how I felt about this album on first listen so that’s never going to change.” I already liked this a bit more on second listen and I’m sure it’ll continue to grow on me, but it’s also true that it was my weakest first impression of a Taylor album in a long time (including folklore, which took quite a few listens to sink in). It would probably produce more measured takes if we just all waited to give it several listens before commenting at all, but that’s not exactly the nature of a forum lol

Lavender Haze is one that’s already grown on me a lot. I agree with people who said they prefer the more upbeat songs on here so far, that and Anti-Hero are both standouts for me.

    Got a light?

Everything I enjoyed on first listen is better/growing on listen 3, everything I didn’t like I now enjoy (exception is Vigilante Shit, started skipping it, just not for me)

SwiftTok is convinced the "3am chaotic surprise" is a second album because of the wedding cake.

I wonder what she means by “secret projects”

like she’s got more then one thing to show off????

I think the annoyance about greatest/worst dialogue is an extension of our culture of hot takes, which also feeds into the overarching feeling that music has become more disposable. Of course folks can express what they're feeling, it just seems like we as a society are encouraged to think/feel (and by extension consume/purchase) from what you might call... I don't know, almost a primary color perspective? It's the same sensibility that intertwines with stan culture (in art, culture, and politics), where a person/artist/movement isn't considered thoughtfully because they're an avatar that some individual has decided to put personal stock into or against.

The thing that makes the most sense with a 3am chaotic surprise is a Disney+ or Netflix release because those drop at Midnight PST or 3am EST always.

The fact it’s being shown off on Amazon prime makes me thing it’s an Amazon release not Netflix or Disney plus even tho she still has one more thing to release on Disney plus

I mean…in a society where music is more disposable shouldn’t we be embracing people actually connecting and falling in love with new music? So much of this discourse just seems horribly contradictory to me if I’m being honest with you and I don’t think it’s right to slag people off for being excited about new music regardless

Yeah agreed, that makes much more sense than a whole separate album on the same day lol

I’d def take an all acoustic version of this with Aaron and/or Long Pond acoustic version (one can dream)

there's 26 something or another in the cake's frosting and there's only 13 songs on this, so clearly 13 more songs exist, etc. not saying I agree/believe it, but it's always funny to see what they come up with, mostly to see how wrong they are

I'm going to leave this thread for the rest of the day cause I don't want to know anything yet.

for those of you listening to it already, no hard feelings. I'm just stuck in my ways and will never change lol.
