Something irks me about the national grid statement. It tows truss’ party line a bit too conveniently. Surely someone should be fired if we are that dependent on one country it could result in that???

We need to force a general election whilst they look on the brink of a humiliatingly brutal collapse.

Imagine being in a meeting. Getting pulled out of it. Fly across the Atlantic. Sacked. Wild.

Austria has had three PMs so far without an election, Britain is only catching up

Before this, I felt they would sneak out of it. Now I think they cannot feasibly get away with it without widespread protests.

  12. Can't find what I'm thinking of but I definitely saw reports that some of the more Boris- or May-aligned Tories had explicitly said they needed to call one if she went...should be interesting

Nadine Dorris has tweeted repeatedly that they should bring back Boris or would be forced to call an election.

They're going to try and tough it out. Andrew Bridgen was just on there and was very telling. Saying they need to coalesce around a "unity" candidate and should think long and hard about any opposition as the alternative is being forced into an election "which is the last thing we want".

Isn't he still under investigation for lying to parliment?

The chances of Johnson being the choice are probably a lot higher than we are led to believe. The Tories are absolutely terrified of having an election now, it's very possible they see bringing Boris back as being the only way to avoid that.

Sure my local shit-for-brains MP Matt Vickers is all over it.

This is exactly it. They’ll hide behind the fact he won the last election, ignoring everything that has happened since.

I am a bit disillusioned by all levels of leadership at the moment in Scotland. So whilst, I don't want to take away from her achievements, hopefully sparks some change.

    I do not exist.

Some of the reports from newspapers this side of the border are saying her departure could lead to a Labour resurgence. Do you see that happen? It may be like most politics where you do need a change every decade or so as things get stale and the things you have highlighted above begin to emerge.
