  1. the setlist they played on the 2009 reunion is honestly perfect, no notes

I first heard Neighborhoods when I was 11 years old, and it has this aggressively depressing energy to it that made it a fave during my angsty adolescent years, but as an adult it's just not what I want from my blink-182.

Wishing Well, After Midnight, Ghost On The Dancefloor, and Up All Night are still some of my favorite blink songs. But songs like Natives, MH 4.18.2011, and Even If She Falls all feel kind of hollow and lacking in personality, which isn't to say they're bad songs or written poorly, the execution just feels odd.

I was just turning 15 years old, so I could not partake in such activities LOL. As a freshman, I had to give my money to a senior I was friends with that worked at the local Sam Goody to purchase the album for me since it was explicit. I remember being upset with him for opening the album and ripping it before he gave it to me, but I looked past that cause I wouldn't have the album if not for him.

In terms of underage activities, I could get away with some drinking here and there, but there was no way I was going to find marijuana in middle-of-nowhere NC in 2003. :crylaugh:

Top 50 favorite Blink songs list I made shortly after NINE came out. I need to reevaluate and update cause it’s definitely changed and some of these baffle me now. Like I miss you at 27? Wat.

There used to be a generator online that would pair songs against each other and you’d vote. At the end it would spit out a list in order of your ranking of every blink song.

When I graduated high school in 2010 we all had our own song to walk on stage and get our diploma. Mine was Feeling This. Probably one of blink's brightest moments (i am referring to my graduation ofc)

I know they're not since they've elected to forgo press, but I really wish they would play Edging on Late Night just so we can get a sample of Tom's current live voice. It would be a nice courtesy to those on the fence about whether or not to get tickets. Haha.

Being a Blink fan during the Untitled era was probably the most exciting era for the band. You could kind of tell they were through with the Enema/TOYPAJ sound (as evidenced by Box Car Racer) and were pushing themselves to do something different. There would be breadcrumbs, like they were gonna work with The Neptunes and Dan The Automator when the album was called "Use Your Erection" and they'd have a live camera feed in the studio (which wasn't that interesting). Then it kept getting pushed back and changing titles, while the band occasionally released videos on their site.

Then "Feeling This" leaked because it was on Madden (back when it was called "Action") and it kind of blew past expectations of what a Blink song could be, at least to that point. And then the album ruled.

Do u know other working titles they had for the album?

I thought I read some others in like Spin or Blender. But those have all been lost to time. The only real one I remember is "Use Your Erection."

I remember Feeling This on Madden, and then I Miss You got released as a single and it was huge. Literally everywhere. And this was right around the time that it started to be "cool" to like The Nightmare Before Christmas as a teen (especailly the goth kids of course lol), so everyone loved the Jack and Sally line, etc.

QUestion for fans of the band back then...what's the deal with the grainy looking music video on youtube for Stockholm Syndrome? Was it an idea that was scrapped but got leaked later or something?

IIRC it was never like a video meant to be released to MTV. It was an Enhanced CD extra. Remember Enhanced CDs? They'd often have videos that most assuredly would be potato quality.

I think that was part of the enhanced CD content. Might be wrong.

A lot of people in my circle at the time were especially primed and ready for a darker Blink after the release of (I know) Deja.

If I recall correctly, there was "enhanced" bonus content on the CD like on the Enema CD and it had some "videos" for a few of the songs in that style.

Dark Blink was lifechanging back in 03.. even though we were hearing plenty of bands go down that path, it was something special to hear it from them.

    From Billboard:

"Last week was a momentous one for Blink-182 fans, as the reunited pop-punk trio — Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge, the latter returning after more than seven years away from the group — announced a 2023 world tour and a forthcoming album, led by the new single “Edging,” last Tuesday (Oct. 11). The band’s international tour doesn’t kick off until March 2023, but the announcement compelled fans to dive back into Blink’s discography and refresh themselves on the sugary hooks, sophomoric skits and the smash singles that will be ringing out across arenas next year.

Blink-182’s catalog earned huge spikes on streaming services last week, with a 124% jump between Monday, Oct. 10 (1.73 million total U.S. on-demand streams, according to Luminate) and the following day, when the reunion was announced (3.87 million streams). That total peaked on Friday, when “Edging” was released, with the new single contributing to the band’s 6.22 million streams that day. The daily streaming totals for Blink’s catalog dipped back down in the days following the announcement and single release, but last week’s increases demonstrate the very real enthusiasm around this reunion — which could end up with a nine-figure gross next year. – JASON LIPSHUTZ"
