Edging is the perfect song to introduce us back to the band. Fun, Short and sweet, yet it leaves us wanting more and wondering what the other songs will sound like. I honestly can’t imagine an entire album sounding like this. It’s doing it’s job, that’s for certain.

 

It also goes without saying these guys are all around 50, I don’t understand why people think they’re going to keep getting better/expect them to.

 

I mean, he's probably not wrong. But that doesn't mean it's fair. If I could afford to regularly attend stadium shows with VIP seating, soundcheck shows, etc. without batting an eye? I'd probably be happier too. LOL

This music video is awesome. I smiled the whole time watching. Probably their most fun music video since Feeling This. Made me love the song even more, and I have a feeling it's really gonna help make the song a hit.

none of the visual gags and set pieces they could come up with for the video could ever be as funny as Tom's hand movements and facial expressions are. just look at him @ 2:07 lol

 

Yeah, after sitting with it for a bit... It's really started to sink in. Won't ever be my favorite Blink song. But it's very serviceable.

It's not my favorite Blink song, but it definitely sets the stage nicely for this next era of the band. It's got both Mark and Tom singing. The lyrics could be interpreted as being about playing music together ("Wanna play?" / "There's a perfect place to go when it's time to lose control" / "Let's hit the road") and wondering how fans might react ("I'm only letting you down"). And as a song it's mid-tempo, a new style for the band, and kinda sets the stage for them to go in whatever direction they want with the album.

It's also going to crush live, I think. Songs like this work great with extended bridges to talk under, get crowd interaction, etc.

They probably ain't making their best record at 50 years old, regardless of what Tom says, but hopefully this album captures the spirit of blink – the fun-loving trio and some of the later-period experimentation of Untitled.

I can hear this chorus being played at arenas for sporting events. I think it’s going to get a huge crowd pop at shows too.

 

They’re 50 not 90, they absolutely could have their best work ahead of them. Commercially that boat has probably sailed, but let’s not write them off artistically.

Nobody’s writing them off. Enema has always been my favorite, and it always will be. That didn’t change with the last 5 records and it won’t be changing now, and that’s okay.

I’m excited for whatever they create together and happy to be along for the ride.
