After listening multiple times Edgeing is growing on me. It’s an alright song, it just isn’t as instant or big sounding as most of their past singles. I just had higher expectations given how much I liked the singles off of the last two albums and Blink singles in general. Still glad they are back and I’m sure there will be stuff I’ll enjoy more on the album.

Well now that I posted here again, I’ll just say I’m super amped for this reunion/album/tour. Was following all the rumors and was so glad it came true. Sad to see Skiba go, but this is the lineup I fell in love with and I’m excited for the future.

blink announced all this just a couple hours after my grandfather that I was very close to passed away. In my mind, this reunion and return of my favorite band is a gift from him to help me get through the grief.

I enjoy his writing, even when I disagree with him, but man... He waffles so hard between looking at things from a total macro level and a micro level that it's dizzying. He's so terrible at the nuanced grey areas in-between.

 

What an arrogant prick. The quote about the happiest fans being the ones that are able to shell out the most for tickets and that people who want affordable shows should go to their local bar is fucked. It’s sad that these big tours are becoming an elitist experience. I make good money and could afford these prices, but it shouldn’t cost $300-$400 to get a nosebleed ticket to attend a concert. TM has basically normalized scalping their own tickets and it really sucks for music fans. Artists are complicit but it’s also hard when the whole industry is abusing these practices.

 

Lots of hot takes on the single compared to past releases. IMO I love that the vibe is old friends back together leading with gratitude and a simple nod to punk rock. I have no doubt the album will be dynamic and this has set the tone for a celebratory return. Feels like a killer appetizer.
