Yup, those verses sound way too close to All Stars. It's a shame because I really like Mark's verses/chorus.

 

Welp I just danced like a crazy person in my living room to Edging - can confirm, skanking works real well to this track.

 

Who knows how bands this big do business. Speculating about that is kinda pointless unless they speak up.

As a fan I wanted the four piece but it is what it is.

 

Yeah, the way they've treated him over the past few years has always just seemed weird to me. He never seemed in the loop about basically anything ever since the pandemic started, and they shelved all of the new music with him for some unknown reason (Tom coming back?). Add in the fact that Mark, Travis and the official blink channels sort of avoided interacting with him or even mentioning him for the last few years...and yeah, I don't know. Just didn't seem like a clear situation.

 

it's not my take! i just wouldn't be surprisedddd! haha. but honestly, i feel like Matt's just always been on the outside looking in since he joined the band, and just expected that he'd get calls when they needed him to come in or go on tour.

 

I would have been so stoked if they were going to do it all as a 4 piece with Matt. I'm currently only lukewarm stoked.

 

Matt got like 5k more followers on IG the last day and has 1500 comments on his last post from mid-August lol

 

I was there! My last time seeing Blink with Tom.

I remember buying the tickets on Stubhub thinking "I can't believe I'm spending $150 to see Blink 182." Oh how naïve I was lol

 

If they had skipped my city/country I would be much more bummed out but at least I will see them live lol

 

yeah, they skipped over Utah so i'm kinda bummed about it, but i've also seen them like 6 or 7 times, most of those with Tom, so it's fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine... BUT i'm dying to see Mark play live again, so i'm definitely gonna try and catch one of the festival dates they're playing.

 

I forget how many pages ago it was it but I'm still cackling at whoever said the radio edit would be "I boinked her in church"

 

Anyone else get the vibe from the drums intro that this will flow off of another song on the album?

 

Im sure Matt knew what was coming. The guys are serious professionals.

Whether Matt thought he was keeping the seat warm, or whatever.... He knew if and when Tom was coming back.

 

i don't think they thought tom was coming back until mark had his cancer battle. i think that's why tom said something in his insta post to the effect of "it put things into perspective"

 

Still has to hurt. Kept the band afloat, took criticism in stride from a ton of ungrateful people who had no respect for who he is and the shoes/expectations he had to fill. Not to mention a lot of casual fans not knowing anything blink related has happened since Tom left or conveniently just forgot. Then add to that the hype with Tom's return and them selling out stadiums across the world.

 

ugh, they changed the mixing for Take of Your Pants on Apple Music for Dobly Atmos and it sounds super weird.

 

For real. My sister texted me asking if I was going and she thought blink hadn’t done any shows since like 2013.

The message from Tom to Matt is super classy, and I think it was a really nice touch having it come directly from him instead of like the band account (although I still want the band account to post something acknowledging him too). I fucking love Skiba and I hope he's happy and proud of what he accomplished here, and I can't wait for the next Trio album.

About the song itself, admittedly on first listen I was a little underwhelmed (although it's obviously amazing to hear their voices together again) but it's already grown on me a ton, that chorus is fantastic and already stuck in my head. I am so stoked about all of this

I think that this album might be a little like California 2.0, a little reset and them just happy to be making music together. Hopefully it works well because I would love them to after this push themselves. I know they are getting old but if there's one thing these dudes are is productive.

 

Yeah exactly. It's one of those things where, yeah, I'm sure he understood that the mix of Tom, Mark and Travis is what has led to this band being capable of playing arenas. That part is obvious. But still, when you get phased out and practically the whole world is cheering (even though they aren't trying to directly insult you), the media is covering it like crazy, stadiums are selling out presale tickets, etc. that has to sting quite a bit, regardless if you saw it coming or not.

 

I'm sure Matt knew exactly what he was getting into when he agreed to this (8?) years ago. If we all knew Tom would come back one day, I'm sure he realized too
