Need a Zane Lowe, Rock Sound, or Toby Morse podcast to get the dirt on the BTS asap. Someone who actually knows the band and doesn’t ask puff piece questions. I’m just excited to get everyone’s individual perspective.

Best part of that post is Tom is 100% right. Matt, whether you like him/his music/blink’s music with Matt, really helped saved the band. Who knows where the band would be without him stepping in, if I were to guess probably not in a better place they are today.

Surprised there isn’t an interview out there yet. I know it’s only been two days but I thought there would be one the day of the announcement. I’m sure one is imminent!

I mean......should it? There are so many things that should be accessible to everyone that we have to overhaul such as healthcare, shelter, food, etc. I don't think GA Pit tickets to Blink 182 fall in the same category.

Love the single, super catchy and a great way to re-introduce Tom back in the mix. Having not heard anything else (Lol) I think they picked the right song to lead with.

I was very surprised by how "pulled back" the drums are, but I guess it works for the song. The guitars could have been a bit louder in the song too... but I'm just being nit picky. Very glad to have them back together!

    Things have changed.

I believe there should be like, a few sections up top that are priced under $50. But artists deserve to make money, too.

I'm actually surprised they've never done a Zane Lowe interview. I love watching his interviews, that dude just genuinely loves all things music and doesnt go for the clickbaity questions.

I think in order to get tickets for a show you should have to prove that you’re a day 1 fan. Tattoos = pit, knowing all albums/members/drama/deep cuts = lower bowl, knowing singles = upper bowl/standing room, knowing all lyrics to fighting the gravity = side stage.

Still wild to me that their first record with Matt was #1. They really nailed it with Bored To Death. I honestly figured like Mohegan, small arenas would've been their cap with Matt. I think our date of the Cali tour did 22,000.

I feel like I don't actually understand dynamic pricing, or at least there's a fallacy in how its being sold (I had assumed the latter).

    - Since TM can't determine who is going to resell, they're inflating the prices for everyone, who otherwise wouldn't be facing the inflated price.
    - I've seen people talk about artists/TM losing profits due to resale, but the resale market didn't previously factor into their model (pre-GetMeIn, Seatwave, etc). The money was never theirs. If ticket price at face-value is too low then they should increase face-value by a set amount.
    - Morally, the industry and fans have always been heavily critical of touts/gougers, but the industry then using that as an excuse to gouge fans as a result just seems bonkers.

I don't know if you have the Dice app in the US, but Dice in the UK sells tickets at face value, mostly for small-medium size shows, but also some bigger shows, and they charge no fees. If the show sells out and you want to sell your ticket, you can automatically sell it to someone in the waiting list, for face value. All tickets are always stored on the app itself, no PDF print-out etc, so you can't resell it somewhere. If the issue is that the industry needs to make more money, then increase ticket prices fairly (i.e. not dramatically) across the board. This seems the "fair" way, and I always thought it was the way things were going. Dice is already very established and well-used, so its not like it doesn't work. I think their model maybe isn't quite profitable enough, which is fine, increase ticket prices a bit, but just make it fair & sensible.

Fans will always be angry that they missed out on tickets, but that's the way it'll always be.

Completely agree. Just goes to show you how well they did marketing the album and tour and how a good lead single can do a lot too.

That CT show was packed, I wouldn’t have been surprised if it was more. It seemed like more people were there than during their Neighborhoods tour. The California tour was massive.

I think that the industry-wide attempt to combat scalpers/resellers has actually made the problem worse. Fans used to fight against bots, now they're fighting against bots, AND Ticketmaster. It's a losing battle all the way around. Yes, you can gamble that resellers who bought inventory at inflated, dynamic pricing will lose out and you'll be able to buy for pennies on the dollar later (see MCR), but that isn't a guarantee, nor do I think it's a good solution.

Really, I'd like to see Ticketmaster invest money in a bot-defeating system that works. Theirs doesn't. It never has. It often flags individuals who are just struggling to use their shitty system. There are bots openly available to resellers. They're insanely expensive, but they're relatively fool-proof so long as you pony up the cash monthly. That's what's making it harder for the average person to secure a ticket. It's not joe blow off the street who bought a couple extra tickets to make a quick buck. People will always get left out of big tours. Demand outweighs supply.

Resellers are always going to exist in this space, and you will never defeat them in totality. They should focus on the big guys who are doing the most damage, and not create collateral damage of normal people in the process. Is it hard? Absolutely. Will it cost a lot of money? You bet. But that's what should be done. I just don't think they care enough to actually do it, when instead they can become their own reseller and drive up profits across the board.

Ticketmaster has been using the same garbage, outdated system for years. Constant crashes, unexpected errors, lack of transparency. Its archaic. Their resale competitors operate on better platforms. Small-time ticket distributors like EventBrite do it better. Axs does it better. My local state university's independently run box office does it better. Everyone does it better than Ticketmaster, which is insane.

The problem for me is that for as long as you have paper tickets, PDF eTickets, you're always going to encourage resales. Its surely not about defending bots, its about changing the system. The tech is there.

The only reason I see that they don't do it, is because they'll lose the money-making avenues for resale or dynamic pricing.

Paper and PDF tickets have been dead for quite a few years now. Every Ticketmaster venue in the country, with very very very few exceptions, are operating strictly on barcode mobile delivery. And many of the major venues, probably all the ones on this tour, are operating with dynamic barcodes, meaning you can't get in with a screenshot. The ticket has to be physically transferred from one account to the next. They've actually made it even easier to resell, because now you don't need to mail someone a ticket or ask them to print it off anymore.

There's no real solution to the problem you're speaking of. If you disable transfers altogether, people are going to be livid if something comes up and they can't sell their tickets or give them to a friend. Or, people are just going to create disposable Ticketmaster accounts. You buy resale tickets, they gave you a fake email address and password. You use it for the night, and then it's recycled. It's already happening.

Look, all we want are $15 tickets to a show that everyone can attend, where we all have perfect sight lines and are close to the stage, where the sound is perfect, and our feet and backs don’t hurt, and there are no lines to get in/ get a beer/ go to the bathroom! Is that so damn hard to figure out?
