I don't know for sure. My guess was it was already filmed and it would come out tomorrow, but honestly I don't know.

 

Impersonating green day or giving a nod to the Ramones? Tom openly said he’s back in love with punk and ramones we’re a big influence on parts of Lifeforms. Tom has always blatantly given nods to his influences in Blink, BCR, and AVA.

What is your overall impression and excitement level for the album compared to the first reuinion, california, and nine announcements?

 

I really like the song. It could probably push more boundaries - but I'm sure that'll happen plenty on the album. It has just enough buried in the layers to hear a little extra on each listen. The vocals are great, the mix is great. It's fun. It's easy. Feels fresh. I'm in.

 

This song makes sense to me because it does seem like a mesh between where both bands (AvA and blink) were heading after their last records. But the important part is that it actually meshed together and didn't really sound like either of them, in a way.

Compare that to the first reunion - "Up All Night" dropped and everyone said "Sounds like AvA but with Mark". Then "Hearts All Gone" dropped - "Sounds like +44".

So yeah, I definitely like the song more than I even thought I would. Super catchy. But even then, I know it's meant to be a hooky single so I don't think it's representative of what's to come other than that these guys are actually attacking the writing together...FINALLY.

 

When Bored to Death came out, this board erupted but I dont think as much as it has now.

 

Do we know the likelihood of an album announcement?

 

Pre-orders are up rn! Out spring/summer next year.

 

I'm trying to go through the corners of my rotted-out brain, but has blink ever done a shuffle like this before? It's fun to hear them do something new, not groundbreaking but new, 30 years in.

 

I wonder what the "fair/face" value will be though. Like, what is the ACTUAL ticket of a pit seat in Austin? I wonder how to figure that out. Yesterday they were 300 and today they were over 600 with platinum

I mean, what does Blink-182 even sound like in 2022, anyway? This is solid. Not groundbreaking or whatever, but will be fun live and I can see myself spinning this a bunch. It's just a solid rock song and seems like a logical choice for single #1 because it has both Mark and Tom on vocals. Way better than anticipated, TBH.

That said, I understand what people are saying. The verse has that sort of "pop-punk" shuffle vibe that Green Day's done a few times. It also reminds me of MxPx's "Well Adjusted" too. In the verses, anyway. It doesn't sound like a carbon copy of any of those, but same kinda beat/tempo.

 

New song is crack.

Also, hate to harp on the ticket prices but how is what Live Nation doing allowed? Don't they own Ticketmaster now? I feel like they are holding back seats and slowly releasing them as "platinum" tickets at ridiculous prices. Can we file a class action lawsuit or something, I can't believe what they do to their customers is possibly legal.
