Personally I don't think there's anything to worry about. Everything I read said that Sapochnik was more on the production side of things. Ryan Condal is the one responsible for the overall vision of the show and was GRRM's handpicked guy. As long as Condal is still on board i'm not worried.

Then they might as well stop watching this show entirely right now. As a book reader watching some of these people discourse about this show online... it's like knowing a train is going to crash years before it happens You know they're eventually going to fucking hate this show, but you can't say anything lol < major book/show spoiler

 

watched the preview again. That one scene with dudes swordfighting is Kingsguard loyal to Rhaenerya stealing Viserys' crown and escaping to Dragonstone (I'm guessing the show is changing it to Erryk being the one doing that) right?

 

Hmmm. Tbh I watched it three times and couldn’t pick up much. Just Aemond skulking about hooded, as well as Erryk and Arryk dressed as commoners it looked like

 

There is definitely a shot of either Arryk or Erryk swordfighting someone in the streets. If both twins are present for the moment this episode focuses on then something is going down

 

we also see criston turn the sword on someone looking like harrold westerling

 

Probably. I feel like beesbury will be dying more gruesomely than just a sword

It looks like whatever horny-ness fans online had for Ser Harwin is now being transferred onto Jace lol.

rewatching for the fourth time (lol) and i wonder if they make addam vaemond's son. it would preserve the show's depiction of corlys and laenor while also giving motivation for some of the stuff with redemption for addam that was be difficult to include with the choices made by the show so far

 

I still don’t think they’ve made the bastard route impossible, but That would work too.

so after rewatching the trailer, what I’m noticing is Otto is telling someone they have a secret mission, and to me it looks like one of the Cargyll twins. Then we see both Aemond and the twins drsssed as commoners with cloaks on. And then we see one of the twins sword fighting someone in a cloak. So I’m thinking we’re getting the twin fight now, OR maybe one or both of them are killed by Aemond? It’s really hard to suss out speculation from the books based on the trailer

Also, re: The Green Council, With Harold Westerling still alive, I wonder if we will get Criston Cole killing him. Because in the books he’s long dead by now. more speculation based on book spoilers

 

They actually talked about this on The House of R podcast for Episode 8. There were promo photos released before the season and Westerling will survive to be on the Black Council in Dragonstone

So i'm guessing in the show Westerling is just taking the place of Ser Steffon Darklyn as the head of Rhaenery's Queensguard and probably the one who steals Viserys' crown and gets it to Rhaenerya for her coronation on Dragonstone. I guess they probably thought it was easier to just combine them into one character.

 

ive been guessing about that last one in here since the trailer dropped lol
