Yeah, on the one hand, I don't really think they should be playing most of those songs anymore (although I agree with many that WSP should be a set staple over, say, Local Man) because they have so many better songs. But, on the other hand, I do still think it's a really good album overall and there are absolutely moments when I go back to it and fall in love with ot again. They've grown a ton since it, but I really don't think there's anything embarrassing on it. I wouldn't want them to treat it as another pariah of their discography (I don't think it's quite there yet though)

Get stoked on it isn’t on Apple Music and as a completionist it bugs me lol

I agree, I just think it kind of feels like it’s headed in that direction. No matter how many albums they’ve released since it came out, I think there’s at least a song or two, as the poster above said, that should be set staples. I think it’s the album that “made them” and the one that got many of their fans interested in them.

I would love for WSP to be a set staple, but seeing them bring it out on occasion makes it all the more special imo.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

They just played the Upsides on an entire tour, they probably want a break from it now.

They played the same exact set list last night as Thursday. Wishing they were playing more Hum songs but so stoked to see them tonight.

I’ve always loved this band but the past few years I haven’t connected as much/ didn’t listen to them regularly. But since Hum came out I’ve barely listened to any other band. It’s just the perfect album for where I am at right now.

They were in top form last night. Couple set list tweaks I’d make but can’t complain much for a band with so many great songs.

mainly I’d swap in Cardinals 2 for any of the sister cities tracks

Came out swinging as an encore closer seems kind of weird. Make that the opener.

Nah it's a great closer. It's probably their most popular song and you get a massive singalong for the ending. Plus they literally just did a big tour with it as an opener.

    forbidden chalice.

COS is the defacto closer in my mind. that song is synonymous with Dan getting into the crowd and singing with them. perfect way to end a night

It's called Came Out Swinging, so the title is very much past tense as opposed to something like "Coming out Swinging" (you wouldn't be able to say "We've been the wonder years and we Came Out Swinging" if you open with it). I don't know, it feels like a reflective song with an eye to the future, and so very appropriate to close with

We’re really getting into the nuts and bolts of it here, aren’t we?

I've always viewed Came Out Swinging as the closer, and that's what I've seen them do most often. I also always love when Dan says "We've been The Wonder Years and we came out swinging." Crowd always goes nuts.

is a perfect fucking way to close a show

I thought bringing out Dave from Fireworks for Came Out Swinging was a perfect way to close out the show.

Fully aware they've moved on but I really miss Bar Bands as the closer. Used to love the huge congregation on stage for the closing. Anthemic.

I miss Bar Bands as a closer as well, but Came Out Swinging creates a really great atmosphere as well.

I think COS is the perfect closer. I don’t think I’d always want it to be the opener but when they did it at boot and saddle a few years ago it was perfect for that show.
