Oh wow, I'm already at the point of no return in Fenyx Rising. I think it's because I explored the icy area before I was supposed to haha. I guess I was expecting more quests in between unlocking all four gods and, y'know, the final battle.

Fun game, lots to explore and collect. Some of the jokes with Zeus don't land but the rest of the dialogue/story is pretty great. I think I'll wrap up a few more challenges before finishing it up

 

Found two shrines in octopath traveler so opening up dual jobs for two of my main party is nice. I guess I’m pretty locked in to who I’m taking around with me because the last two I got (the dancer and the warrior) are only like level 8 while my main party are all around 20-22. I’ve got alfyn and the huntress sitting at around 12-13 but yeah I run with therion, Cyrus, Ophelia, and tressa? Whatever the merchants name is.

 

I usually rotate in a fourth character if I'm doing their chapter. Sometimes I'll rotate in another one if they're lower leveled.

Also Alfyn's Concoct ability is so broken

 

10 hours is enough to get my fill and never play again

 

I got like ten minutes into Octopath, which I realize isn't enough to get into it, I just got distracted by another game...

 

I started Octopath with Primrose so she's always been in my party, though I admit she's not the most useful. Ha'anit is my fave, and Cyrus has become a staple of the party too. 4th character I switch depending on the chapter, but Olberic's tankiness suits me well most of the time.

 

well the way I see it, it’s either Ophelia or alfyn for my support role, and Ophelia has more full party heals. Cyrus is OP as hell with his AOE, and I like Tressa for the extra money and also hired help can do some insane damage if you boost it even if you’re only calling the mercenary. Since I main Therion he’s gonna be in there but he’s pretty self sustaining with HP thief and SP thief but I just got his scholar secondary class which I can stack back to back with Cyrus to do some crazy damage. I realize during the boss fight I just did (the guy in the manor in noblecourt for therions second chapter) and it took me three tries but it’s so necessary to focus on their vulnerabilities to get a break to interrupt their turn and also stack your boosts for after their guard is broken to really hit them hard and then regroup and heal up when the guard resets and rinse and repeat

 

Yeah boss fights in the game demand that you time the shield breaking well instead of just mindlessly boosting and whacking away. You can get absolutely wrecked if you miss a window to break them and they take a couple quick actions.

The thing I like about this game is that debuffs, buffs, and status effects are super useful. Therion can cripple a boss with debuffs and H'aanit's Leghold Trap is incredibly useful for slowing down a boss. And of course there's nothing like a fully boosted Cyrus blast after Primrose buffs him!

 

Jesus Christ this Rat King boss in TLOU2. Idk how many tries this is going to take me lol

 

I had to drop the difficulty down to very light lmao. I was never going to beat that shit.

I didn’t have my flamethrower or shotgun equipped when the encounter began and I just kept dying trying to switch it lol. Even after trying to run away first.

 

Now this sniper section, goddamn

 

Wanna say this is the section I died the most, thing just kept catching me

Maybe just have a dedicated PC for gaming then and keep my current one for office things...will look into prices thanks for your help!

Amongst my steam purchasing I bought Monster Hunter Stories 2 for my steam deck and it is god damn beautiful and fun. 60 FPS MH is a delight. Most likely gonna get Rise too lol.

Def did all the chocobo digging last time I played through FF9.

Now collecting all the cards, that's something I've never accomplished.

 

yes lol but the remaster lets you fast forward and the timer stays the same speed so it's way easy to get max items when digging before time runs out

heck that, I've played like10 card games and I still don't get it lol
