Turkey says Putin wants to negotiate 'grand bargain' with West

This story links to a blurb on CNN. It's not even a full story really, it's just part of a daily update type thing. I'm not seeing this anywhere else right now though.

 

I blame the dolphin soldiers. Everyone knows dolphin soldiers are lazy and unreliable. They probably swam off somewhere and were having fun when the bridge got hit.

 

Really hope Biden and Putin can talk face to face at the upcoming G20 - maybe something concrete can come out of it

I keep going back and forth on whether Biden or Macron or Erdoğan should even be involved in peace talks if and when they take place. I want Biden to be involved, because I think he and Putin should be talking, but I also think the US is overly involved in this situation already. I could see Macron wanting to be, given how he seems to be pushing for Europe to be less dependent on the US in security matters and seems to be positioning France to take on this role a little bit. Erdoğan seems the most likely candidate at this point though, and I think he has already told both sides he is willing to do so in Turkey when they want. I liked the Nehammer / Austria idea though because they are not part of NATO and are arguably more neutral.

 

The US Navy has trained dolphins (and Balugas and Sea Lions) too. They use them for counter-mine and counter-diver ops. Who knows how effective it actually is. It's all going to be irrelevant and replaced eventually though as underwater drone tech gets further developed and takes over that role.

 

Celebrating the deaths of any civilians is gross

I can't get this short clip out of my head. Utterly horrifying and sickening. The fact that people actively support this shit or ignore that it is happening altogether are equally fucking disgusting.
