I’m the perfect height. Tall enough to block most people I stand in front of, but not tall enough to see over everyone.

I block everyone and can see over just about everyone, it’s great. I usually try to find a support beam or something I can stand in front of so I’m not blocking anyone and can lean against something between sets.

I don't think I'm ever gonna go to a show again after reading this thread

The worst thing about concerts is people talking over the openers or even sometimes the headliner. If you are going to do that, just move to the back or better yet don't come to the show.

For clairty I'm not talking about people whispering something to their friend(s) briefly, I am talking about people having full on conversations while the openers/headliners are playing.

Kind of off topic but I feel this will get a lot of push back:

My god I hate the new Arctic Monkeys music as much as I did their last album. So mind numbingly boring and fart-sniffy.

I danced all night to my chemical romance at my show and my fitbit logged it as a workout which is just a bonus!

Talking during the show is def the worst. When I saw the Jimmy eat world/taking back Sunday coheadliner show the people next to me was clearly just there for tbs and didn't care about jimmy which is fine except they stayed up front and loudly talked about how they didn't know any of the songs, how much they hated their bosses at work, etc. It was so loud and distracting and the few videos I shot of their set you can hear those people talking thru all of them.

I'm a h8r and couples who do lots of pda at shows are annoying too

I've definitely run into my share of shitty aggressive women at shows in this regard, too.

Do what you want but if I happened to be sitting behind the only person in the venue choosing to stand I’d probably be pissed

I’m 6’ with big hair so my “who can see over me/who can I see over” experience is a real mixed bag. The true hack is to stand directly in front of the sound booth if there is one because you don’t block anyone and you’re getting the best sound. That’s not always available though, so when it’s not I make efforts to only move spots between sets (unless the move is to get in front of someone taller than me), and to only take short videos where the camera doesn’t go higher than my head. But yeah at a certain point there’s only so much you can do. If the music encourages dancing I’m gonna bop around baby

I don’t really like concerts anymore. They’re fine once I am there, provided the venue is not too big, but it’s just such a hassle.

I'm at a point where I just hang out more towards the back. I'm a cool 5 feet tall so it's more likely I'll be able to see if I'm outside of the crowd. That being said concerts are actually some of my only experiences where a tall person has noticed me behind them and offered to swap places. Which is very kind because in most crowds people don't even realize I'm there. I just go into most situations expecting to not be able to see

as a 5’5 dude i just angle myself so i can see through the shoulder windows of the people in front of me. not too big of a deal tbh like you learn to navigate ur way through a crowd. however i was very appreciative the one time a tall guy asked if i could see and if i wanted to trade places with him at a thrice concert years back, but i never expect it
