He's been performing drunk for years

 

yeah i dont think ive ever seen him sober and the strokes have been late to literally every show i've seen them perform since I first saw them in the ROF era

 

weird i thought he got sober a while back.

 

Watched some videos and while he’s definitely not hitting the beats - he’s doing fine from what I saw? Idk

Also, yeah I’ve seen Strokes 4 times now (seeing them next month at the This Ain’t No Picnic festival!) and he had to have been at least somewhat drunk at two of them lmao

Julian downplaying expectations in his own typical weird way

 

That most recent interview with Matt Skiba talking about Comedown Machine got me revisiting it. It’s so good. I forgot how amazing it is. Took me a long time to appreciate it.

 

Comedown Machine is their 3rd best album after the first 2.

 

I’m mostly a First Impressions and Angles kinda guy.

 

I like pretty much every Strokes album, they all have their merits. First Impressions is probably my least favorite, it’s a little shambolic and redundant at the same time.

 

I can understand that. I just have weird connection with it. It’s also the album that made me think “wow, these guys really do have something special and I wonder what they can do with it”.
