Biggest issues eating away at AEW:

The whole promotion was built off this idea of a revolution and a punk rock vibe all directed at shitty Vince McMahon. You can ride that until he’s gone, but now look what state AEW is in. Chaos.

TK has also made a massive massive mistake (as fun as it was to experience) of making the product more about who will show up next week than the actual matches and stories.

Yeah it was awesome to see Joe/Bryan/Cole/Punk/Regal/Claudio to show up but what are any of them doing a full year later? Meh at best.

FTR was the hottest tag team in the world in the Spring, TK ruined that momentum.

Wardlow was hotter than the fires of mount doom and now he looks like a geek. TK ruined his run.

the most painful thing to watch is that all of these (aside from injuries derailing some story beats) are completely unforced errors.

I mostly agree with you but I feel like Wardlow and FTR both got great reactions tonight so I would hesitate to say they’re ruined

Oh absolutely- they as characters aren’t ruined, just the momentum they had. Like I said, these are unforced errors and that means they can fix them.

Glad I looked at the spoilers in this thread so I could skip the last match.

I don’t know. Gunther’s great but after he’s done with Sheamus there’s no one left for him to fight. He’s already beat Ricochet, Nakamura is rarely on TV, Sami is with The Usos and I can’t see Madcap or anyone from the lower card being a challenge for him. Smackdown doesn’t have a lot of midcarders who aren’t tag teams. Maybe they do something with Mcintyre after this Kross feud is over.

The level of heat “WHOSE HOUSE?” gets is incredible.

They’ve been booked like shit but the crowd still loves them so it’s something. Wardlow’s match with Cage tonight was great and they kind of fucked it up by letting him take a beating from guys who are mostly unknown. I get that it was to build the FTR match for Friday but it was still kind of weird.

  8. Also I’m kinda over Jericho and his goons standing tall every single fucking week

It’s all just exhausting. I was excited to go into AEW fresh after being away from wrestling for a year or so, but all the drama is a incredibly off putting.

  13. It’s overshadowing the very good wrestling

like last night was a good show completely marred by the Guevara stuff and TK playing favorites

  16. that match against Hobbs was on Rampage tho?

the point is he should be featured a lot more than he is

I feel like jericho has constantly talked about how he worries other promotions will just fall like wcw if they’re not managed correctly and aew is kind of starting to look like that. At least wcw was pretty massive and competing head to head with wwe before that happened, though.

Meltz and Alvarez are reporting that Sammy didn’t throw any punches, that Andrade was warned that getting in a fight with Sammy would not get him out of his contract, and that Andrade said he wouldn’t start anything before almost immediately starting something.

Let's get these people moving faster!

I wonder how much of it is because of him being a Jericho guy. Not that I've heard (admittedly nor am I looking) that Jericho has used his stroke to protect Sammy from discipline lately, but given the influence he seems to have, it feels possible.

tony needs to get a head of talent relations that doesn't get himself suspended for getting into an altercation with talent and a booking committee because he has no idea what the fuck he's doing. let him bankroll the operation and use his tv connections to get them decent deals, but everything else needs to get delegated.

Or maybe he just shouldn’t run a wrestling promotion? The dude doesn’t take anything seriously. Not to mention he always thinks someone is out to get him it seems.

that's also an option but the guy seems really committed to aew so i don't see him giving up the reins
